Dylandad09
So I am a newbie to RC and to cruising.. We are sailing April 16th.. We did a Royal Up and went to modify our price and now it wont let us. When I click on it, it says the following "No eligible cruise found." It still says submitted and nothing else.. It allows me to bid on other rooms... I am thinking its no longer available and we lost our bid... Anyone with experience with this... Thank You.... Plumlee2028
I had a similar issue with Celebrity MoveUp this the month. Tried everything (cache, browsers, the works). It said "not eligible for upgrade" but said pending for about 5 weeks. Then I was awarded the bid. WAAAYTOOO and Neesa 1

VicB
What are the chances of landing a Royal Class Suite on Royal Up on a QC ship? And typically, how much are the bids low to max?

The min to max bid will be depending on a ton of factors never known to us. If it is a popular sailing it could be as low as 800+ or in the $1000s. Also note you can only go up a couple of tiers, you won't have the options to go from an interior to royal class, you might have to already be in a JS to get offers for the higher-class suites. This also means that if your room is not on a list of desired ones, you won't get a chance to bid as not everyone will have the option. Va4fam
We are sailing Odyssey in a JS during Easter. I think the sailing will be at /near full capacity. Just for fun, here are current bid ranges per guest for a Royal Up from a JS as of this morning: Grand Suite/1 Bedroom $ 90 - $1410 Grand Suite/2BR $140 - $6125 Owners's Suite $170- $6000 Grand Loft $420- $6175 Owner's Loft $ 665 - $6700 Royal Loft $ 950 - $11880 Anything look good? asquared17
that grand suite minimum bid at $90 (times two, for the first and second pax -- so $180) looks mighty tempting. but if it's near capacity, the odds are that someone will outbid you with higher than a minimum bid. i would say don't bid anything higher than you are comfortable and keep expectations low. it might work out! Agreed the rate looks tempting. We are staying put in the JS this cruise. It has the split bathroom/shower and in a great location on the ship. Hopefully we can sneak into Coastal Kitchen once or twice. PPPJJ-GCVAB
asquared17
i've DESPERATELY wanted the split bathroom in the JS on the Q class!! our one (and only) time on odyssey, we were in a balcony so we did not get to partake of the CK while on board, though i am told it is much easier to get in there than it is on the oasis class ships. have a wonderful cruise!!! please let us know how your CK experience goes!! FireFishII
Here is a bidding piece of advice: whenever you want to bid the minimum, go the minimum plus a little bit extra. A lot of people will try for a minimum bid. But if you are just a few bucks more, you will be in better shape to win. Good luck! We have JS this year but I got the mom to agree that if we get Royal up we'd bid as much as we paid for the internet package for a GS 1 Bedroom. At rates like these we would be just above the minimum bid and if what @FireFishII says would be true, that'd put us in a good standing to maybe actually win Neesa, FireFishII and YOLO
Ampurp85
I have bid the minimum and won. I have known pax who bid the maximum and over and have not. Bid what you can afford and hope for the best. There is very little in the way if strategy. My experience with CK so far has been Symphony and Odyssey. We loved it on Symphony, ate several meals there and most breakfasts, and it was always busy so we did have to make dinner reservations. On our recent Odyssey cruise, CK was empty?! I think it's not in a great location (outside of Windjammer) behind solid doors, so it's just not inviting to walk up to, imo. Whereas on Symphony, it's light and bright, and on the same deck as many of the suites, and includes the Diamond Lounge space. It was just much more inviting. We'll be on Allure next week in a crown loft suite, so i'm sure we'll be dining at CK several times and i'm assuming i'll like it as much as i did on Symphony! smokeybandit
I just got the RU email for an upcoming cruise on Adventure. Currently in a GS. Minimum bids are: OS: $295 RS: $115 GT: $145. Interesting that the royal suite is cheaper than the other two. Granted, the only cabin currently available is a single OS, but I'm surprised at those low upgrade minimums. FionaMG
Just got my Royal Up bid accepted for my upcoming cruise to Norway on Anthem. We're not talking suites here, but I'm pretty happy to be going from an ocean view guarantee which had us assigned (thank you "bar code trick") in the farthest forward OV cabin on deck 3 to a large balcony cabin on deck 7 for a minimum bid of $50 pp. This is the first time in 3 or 4 attempts that I've actually won one of these things. If I were to book a room in that specific category today it would cost more than twice what I paid for our cruise. And curiously, the minimum bid for a standard balcony cabin was $65 pp, so I passed on that and went straight for the larger balcony at the cheaper price. Geezer Of The Seas
I'm left wondering if the folks that run Royal Up employ an 'algorithm' that involves a dartboard? Our April trip on Wonder, the Royal Up e-mails began appearing inside 90 days out. Not with the frequency of our Nov '22 trip on Jewel, we received probably 6 until a week before departure. The 'minimum bids'? Anything above the one bedroom owner's suite were greater than the GDP of some small nations. The champion was the Ultimate Family Suite at $14400. BTW, from the first e-mail to the last, the figures never changed. My odds of being struck by lightning, winning Powerball, etc. were likely better. We were in a Jr. suite which was an absolutely great cabin for two. Fun to look at and ponder, but we'll stick with the penny slots in the casino. Fingers crossed all that marketing was because they weren't getting any bids and we win by default with our minimum bid. If you “lose” you pay nothing and you stay in the cabin you were already OK with. If you win, then you probably just got a great deal on a cabin that you otherwise wouldn’t book due to cost. Neither outcome is bad. It’s a 100% gamble if your bid gets picked or not, so think of this as your pre-cruise casino action! Now if they would only treat a winning bid as casino points, THEN we would be talking!!! LOL CrimsonCruiser
SCcruisers
We've been able to get a few Royal up's in the past. We sail Wonder on 7/30 and have a bid of $1.400 from a JS to a GS but probably not likely to happen.. all sold out! Full suite prices have doubled in the last few years and not really something we're going to pay since Royal is trying to recoup loses due to Covid.
