If they have cabin's still open on those sailings.  Hopefully it holds up and you get lucky.

OR...

Book now and watch for price drops between now and final payment.

Prices can be very dynamic.  There are a lot of factors that can change quickly.

I’m still a believer in the book early process.   By early I mean as soon as the itinerary you want comes out.  Personal prejudices lead me to this belief as we’ve never had a price drop in the cruises we’ve booked this way.

To be fair, we have booked two cruises within six months at great rates, but we were booking Inside cabins and choices were extremely limited.

IDK. I look for last minute cruises all the time since we can drive. I was just looking today for this May, and I'm either not finding the cabins i want or prices are through the roof. Even looking at cabins i wouldn't normally consider gave me sticker shock.

Have you looked here?

Vote for early here.

I've booked 3 trips since the fall last year.  We booked our upcoming June Alaska trip on the Quantum more than a year ago. Prices have done nothing but go up.  I think once it fluctuated to about $10 below what we booked at and then rose up steadily and is now $1K more than what we paid and that is for an obstructed balcony view (we are much higher up on decks 8 and 9 with our group).  I booked with HAL for a Norway Fjords cruise and the same thing.  Higher prices now and the package we got has not been replicated since. It was their "best sale ever" and was like their Have It All (HIA) on steroids with several extras in addition to their regular HIA package.

I check most every day on the pricing and have several price trackers watching as well. But the price has not come down for any of our sailings.

I wish there was a price tracker for add-ons like the DBP.  I check the pricing nearly every day and it is still out of reach for Mrs Fan.  I could do it easily, but she would never break even. I wish they sold a pre-sail liquor card similar to the coffee card.  I know that you can "sometimes" get them onboard, and I hope to find that to be the case on the Quantum. Not holding my breath though.

Last minute could work if you have a casino comp, don't care about room location, and can spring a vacation out of your pocket.

Every cruise I have booked past the summer of 2022 has doubled in price. OP thinks because they are seeing closed in prices that the prices for 2024 seem expensive but I can guarantee that those prices are going to be a steal when it comes to mid or late 2023. I bet if some of us could post screenshots of what the same cruise cost last year in comparison to this year, it would seem the same. The new deployment schedule was released with higher rates than previous ones and they will continue to increase. I have not been able repriced any cruises since the summer of 2022, because none have decreased in price. If you can book early; unless it's a casino comp I book at least a year in advance.
