Printing Luggage Tags

 A few of us in a large party that is cruising together don't gave printers. Will Royal print luggage tags for us at embarkation and, if so, is this likely to create any type of hold up?

You can get manually written tags at the port, but why not just have those without printers just email luggage tags to someone with a printer in the group

Forgot mine, the baggage handler wrote one and attached it at the pier.

Why can’t those without a printer simply send the file to those who do have a printer and have them print it out? RC isn’t going to print tags for you.

If you don't want to wait until you get to the port, use a library, FedEx, or a printer at the hotel before the cruise.

If the rooms have been linked and people have access to the bookings, one person can print the tags. Also if you are staying at a hotel the night before, you can access your setsail and luggage tags through the computer and print them.

There are 20 of us coming into the port city at different times from different parts of the country, so it would be a lot to coordinate for anyone agreeing to print luggage tags and get them to those who don't have them. We won't all be in together in one place until we have boarded the ship.

Well then your other alternative is simply have them find a local friend or co-worker with a printer.

I’ve printed mine out at work or the local library for a small fee

They will have them at the port. The folks that take your luggage will have tags that they will handwrite your cabin number on. No need to stress or worry.

That is true.  My TA always sends me my luggage tags.

I’m still bitter over the loss of customized luggage tags and travel docs that Toyal used to mail us waaay back.

um... i still get these? they are in my eDOCs that show up when i log in?

I purchased a couple of plastic luggage tag holders.  The instructions on the tag sheet say to fold them up and tape or staple.  I'm thinking about just printing them on card stock, folding them in half and sliding them in the holder.  Will that work?  Also, there are two of us sailing but we were only given one luggage tag.  Should we print a couple copies of the same tag to use on our two suitcases?

If you have the tag holders, you don't even need to do that much. Just print on regular paper and cut out the tag itself without the folds.

 

And you only get 1 luggage tag because you're printing them. You just print as many as you need. There's no bar code of uniqueness on them.

Also they don't need to be printed in color B&W is fine

I don’t think it’s the same ones I’m talking about.  Back in “the day” Royal used to mail you luggage tags that had your names printed on them; they were plastic-ish, had self- adhesive ends and they came with a complete printed copy of your cruise docs (not that we had any use for the cruise docs - then or now).  Some TAs still send these tags to their clients….and for a time Royal would still send them to you - for a $35 fee.  I don’t think you can get them at any price (from Royal) these days.

the porters will fill them out for you, we've gotten royal up twice while in transit and despite having pre-printed luggage tags it nifty rcl amazon luggage tag holders we had new room numbers  by the time we arrived at the port. Nothing that a $5 bill for the porter cant fix in two minutes.

ohhhhh. yes, we definitely do not have those.

that is so much more swanky than what we have now!!
