Reminiscing about great RCCL ships of the past

I recently uncovered a box which had long been forgotten containing photos of past cruises with my late wife of 39 years, Linda.  While looking at the photos I was amazed that most of the ships we enjoyed are now gone.  I then started looking to see which was the oldest ship we cruised on.  I think the oldest ship would be either the Song of Norway or the Sun Viking.  Both were great ships which we really enjoyed.  As I looked at the photos and all the fine people we met I realized the memories were worth every penny we spent on cruises.  I am very lucky to be building new memories with my new wife Kathy as we plan our ninth cruise.  What is the oldest ship you've sailed on?

Being fairly new to cruising (first cruise in 2017), the oldest ship I've been on was Majesty of the Seas on a cruise to Havana, Cuba during the brief time Cuba was open to American tourists.  Majesty is no longer in the RCCL fleet but really enjoyed the ship.  Wished we'd purchased Christmas ornament during that sailing as we've started collecting ornaments for the different ships we've been on.

I was on the Nordic Empress back in 1993 (later renamed the Empress of the Seas.) From my recollection, it was essentially a very primitive version of the ships these days. Everything was mostly like it is now, it has just been modernized by 100x. Similar staterooms. Main deck with pool and hot tubs, casino (although it was much more centrally located), MDR, auditorium for shows. I remember the "Wave Review" shows being a lot more cheesy and review-ish than the big production shows they do now.  The MDR felt a lot more upscale, but it might've just been that I was younger. Looking back at the photos, it's pretty similar, just with a super-80s/early 90s feel to the decor and everyone's attire. Lots of big hair and shoulder pads on women.

The first cruise I took with my family (my wife and kids) in 2017, we got to the port in Miami and the Empress was docked right next to the boat we were going on. It felt like some weird kind of fate.

I was also on the Majesty of the Seas a couple years later. Similar vibe but larger, and I remember there being a small, unassuming "movie theater" on one of the stateroom decks that showed movies all day and evening.

Majesty of the Seas July 1995.  I remember the midnight buffet with all the ice sculptures, sitting at dinner with 4 other couples that we did not know, but got to know by the end of the cruise.  Taking pictures on an old 35 mm camera, then waiting 2 weeks once you got back home to get them developed.  The ships and times sure have changed.

Empress of the Seas (late February 2020).   We were one of the last cruises before the pandemic and don't think she was brought back.

She was small, and you could feel motion when the wind kicked up, but the best all around crew we've sailed with and had everything we needed for an enjoyable trip.

First cruise was in 1979 on NCL

First RC cruise was on the Empress in 1994, second on the Majesty in '99.  Both were very good cruises from what I remember.

Did the Explorer in '01 and have done her 2 more times since, the latest just last December.

We've also sailed on the Oasis a couple times, the Allure a couple times, the Freedom a couple times and just got off the Serenade for the first time.

Yes the cabins were smaller.  However Linda and I were two young kids from Kentucky just starting out and to us the rooms looked like the Astoria.  BTW, Linda won the cruise in a contest.

Our first was a Deck 3 Interior with a family of four. One kid and one adult could stand up at the same time, but both adults was pushing it (and we were both much thinner then than we are now).
