So I know I asked about 8 nights for annual prime but what about the earned certificate? I did 1500 on this cruise and qualify for an interior with freeplay, can that one be an 8n?

You will have to look at their offerings and the offer varies based on the points you earned.  NextCruise should have them if you are still on the ship.  I got about 2500 points on my last cruise and many of the offerings were for 8, 9, and even 11 night cruises with either Oceanview or balconies.

Oh so it's not a choice but their list. I hope they have Jan 2024 offers.

The only way it can become a choice is if you trade it in for credit.  There should be a dollar amount associated with the voucher and it is either a cruise from their list or a dollar amount that can be used towards a cruise of your choice that is not on the list.  If you take the credit, there are also limits on when it must be used by and certain blackout periods too.  Last cruise I was on was in December 2022, and I was able to book a cruise on their list for October 2023, so there may be further out dates depending on what list they match you with based on your earned points.

What is the free annual PRIME cruise?  Does it have to do with how much you play at the Casino?

If you earn at least 2500 points in a year in their Casino, then you reach their Prime tier and are awarded perks like free drinks in the casino and an annual cruise.  Their year runs from April 1 to March 31 the following year, so not a calendar year.  Its a good deal if you like playing in the casino and would do so anyway, but probably not a good deal if you don't like playing in the casino and are just risking money to chase status or a perk.

If you earn 2500 points cumulatively during the casino year (April 1 - March 31) you reach prime status. In April after the year you qualify you get your prime tier cruise offer which can be used on any 7 Night or less sailing excluding holiday sailings. If your choice of a cruise doesn't fit those parameters, it has a trade in value of $500 towards a cruise.

I would be very surprised if any of the certificate offers go beyond the fall of 2023.  Only a few of the sailings included in the offers we saw last month on OA went beyond more than a few weeks into the future.  The whole point of casino comps is to fill sailings that aren’t selling well so there is little incentive for the cruise line to offer comps on very distant sailings.  Most of the applicable sailings are fairly close in.  The more points you accumulate, the better (and more distant) the list of applicable sailings.  I booked a 10 night sailing on Vision for April 21 and a 7 night Grandeur for 2 Sept.  Other options were much closer in.

@AshleyDillo Do you know when the certificate for the free annual cruise is typically issued? I have Prime status and want to use my free annual cruise for a sailing on 23rd April this year, and I'm concerned how tight it's going to be. I can see from previous years people speak about not getting the certificate until the 19th April! I'm really hoping it's not that long. I was told on the casino line it would be within the first 2 weeks of April. Can anyone confirm this from previous years?

I got mine around the 9th last year. But it was an abbreviated prime year so they might not have had to issue as many certs as they will this year so it could even be after the 19th.

I will point out that the prime cert can be applied to an already booked cruise as long as it is not past final payment. Trying to get a cruise on the 23rd will be tight and not something I recommend.

I just hit prime on our last sailing.  If I book a cruise now and apply the certificate when I receive it will they refund the deposit?  I'm guessing maybe I should book a refundable deposit??  Thanks for any advise.

While it is a free cruise, it is not 100% free. The deposit will go to taxes and port fees, gratuities and upgrades. The annual cruise is an interior for 2 minus taxes and port fees, which are the only things that get refunded regardless of deposit type. If you take the interior and don't upgrade, I believe you have to pay the balance in full, possibly even if you upgrade.

I just got off the phone with Club Royale. I booked an interior room on Wonder of the Seas sailing 1/24/24.   I had to pay $500 today. When I receive my certificate I can apply it to the sailing. They will take the taxes and port fees out of the $500 and refund the balance.   Thanks for your help!!

Question, did you hit prime and receive any offers? Because if you made the 2000+ on that cruise you should have received something akin to money off, a free cruise, or free cruise with Freeplay.

We just got off of Adventure of the Seas yesterday. I needed 865 points to reach prime. I made prime on March 31st around 11 PM (nothing like waiting to the last minute)!! This is my first time hitting prime so I am excited!  I received a $250 off certificate in the room.  I receive several interior room offers throughout the year.

Cool., congrats on making Prime.

You can only combine like offers. That means you won't be able to apply that $250 off to the annual cruise. Next time book at NextCruise so you pay only a $100pp deposit. They offer OBC as well, but it will be removed to take advantage of the free annual cruise. Otherwise, that OBC will stay on the reservation number even if you apply $ off and change the booking.

As @Ampurp85 stated, I wouldn't expect it issued until the middle of April at the earliest. Hope it works out for you!

Thank you @AshleyDillo and @Ampurp85 . We were told by the casino host on board that you could book any time after the 31st March, which I see now is a bit misleading and something we will keep in mind for the future. I think we will just change our plans as you both point out 23rd will be very tight!

Something else I wondered, if a cabin is currently booked on a cruise for 4 people, is it easy enough to change a guest? From looking on Google it seems to say that it's fine as long as it's not the lead passenger being changed? But I hoped either of you could confirm. I'm guessing it might incur a penalty but hopefully it's not much.

You can swap out guest as long as one original person stays on the booking. There should be no fees associated with this process.

Also, yes the casino host/ casino phone rep will give you information that is technically true but often vague and without a thorough explanation.

Thanks so much @WAAAYTOOO and @Ampurp85!

Yeah, I think just in general it's too vague. You almost feel they do this on purpose! To be honest I wouldn't even have known about Prime/Rewards Certificates/Free annual cruises unless a guest told me about it all when I was on Wonder. The last cruise I was on I was speaking to another guest on the last day and he told me he had around 2400 points... He had no idea the benefits that another 100 points would bring him and it was a no-brainer that he go and get the points. It just seems like it isn't advertised well enough on board.
