xSAILEDx Navigator of the Seas - Mar 22, 2023 - Mar 27, 2023 (5 Night Cabo & Ensenada)

Recommended Posts

This is the missing link cruise (because no one has posted it between the other two)!  I'm excited to be back on Navigator, and looking forward to exploring more of the Riviera del Pacifico in Ensenada (with a margarita or two!) and maybe some whale watching or snorkeling in Cabo.  Hopefully the Atmospheric River will have receded in California.  Anyone else?

Found an interesting shore excursion for Ensenada -- "Kayak Tour at La Bufadora:  Kayak to one of Baja California's most spectacular wonders, La Bufadora, a natural blowhole that sends sea water 100 feet in the air from the coastline's rocky outcropping."

Originally I was going to wander over to the Riviera del Pacifico and have another awesome margarita at Bar Andaluz.  Might have to hold off until I get back from this excursion, which is supposed to last 4.5 hours, leaving at noon.

Three questions I want to try to resolve/answer on this cruise:

1.  Do all of the Virtual Balconies have the same feed camera(s) and where are they/is it?

2. Which adult milkshake at Johnny Rockets will be my favorite?

3. What are my top two favorite places for people watching on (or above!) the Royal Promenade?  Oh, and can I actually eat an Onion Ring tower at Playmakers in one sitting, or do I need to bring a ziploc bag so I can have the remainder for a midnight snack (and yes, I'll eat them cold :-))

Well, I guess that's four questions -- I'm sure I'll have more!  Anyone need any research done on Navigator?

15 Days to go!  @WyldByllHave you started packing yet?  I think I will try to use just carry-on this trip; it looks like I probably won't have a chance to go snorkeling, so may just bring my mask and snorkel just in case, but leave my fins at home.

We are also trying carry on only.  We actually have “test-packed” once, adjusted and test-packed again.  We are going to “final pack” this weekend.   It’s a challenge as I am large so my clothes occupy more space than typical.  We shall see how it goes!

Anyone that can tell me when I can see the show titles and times?  I know we can reserve pre-boarding, but I would like to at least make my plan.   Or am I just not looking the right place on the app?

I mean cannot pre reserve.

You could try looking at the Cruise Compasses for Navigator to get an idea.  I would imagine that the Ice Show will be at 7 and 9 pm. on Day 2.  On my 4-Night in December 2021, the Ice Show was on the first night, but our first stop on that itinerary was Catalina Island on Day 3, so we were just tooling around for the night as opposed to actually going somewhere at speed.  We had the production show on the second night, at 8 and 10:15 pm.  I don't think we'll be able to pre-reserve; I think that's just on the Oasis class ships.  Keep checking though!

Been looking at the cruise compass from last year, but was wondering if shows will be same ones or different.  I am assuming times and types of shows will be close to the same but that’s just a guess.
Just have to wait until onboard I guess.  Hope I can see all 5 days and not just the next day so I can book them day one.

The entertainment has been updated in the app. Ice Show on Days 1 and 3 at 7 and 9:15 pm. “Showgirl” production show is on Day 4 at 7 and 9:15

More details in my (not so-) Live Blog, but here are some quick observations on my questions posed in my March 8 post:

Do all of the Virtual Balconies have the same feed camera(s) and where are they/is it? There are two cameras per Captain James: one on either side of the Bridge. The Bridge camera that’s on the TV is smack dab in the middle.

2. Which adult milkshake at Johnny Rockets will be my favorite? I only had the Beach Blast (Captain Morgan, strawberry and banana, and soft ice cream).  It was really good. Next cruise I’ll try the Orange Dreamsicle!

3. What are my top two favorite places for people watching on (or above!) the Royal Promenade?  Oh, and can I actually eat an Onion Ring tower at Playmakers in one sitting, or do I need to bring a ziploc bag so I can have the remainder for a midnight snack (and yes, I'll eat them cold :-)) Although I often sit by the stairway to the Casino, I really don’t like it because of the smoke.  I guess at this point it would be in front of the pub. The tall chairs in front of Playmakers aren’t very comfortable.
