C&A Drink voucher time window is changing

It's a good change, though likely won't affect anyone but the night owls.

 

Dear Loyal Members,

One of the great benefits of being a Diamond, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle Club members is the daily complimentary drink vouchers you receive on every sailing. Currently, the active window for voucher redemption each day is from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM, which means that any vouchers you redeem after midnight count towards your balance for the next day.

We know how much you love these drink vouchers, and we want to make sure you’re getting the most out of this benefit! We’re excited to share that we’re changing the daily schedule so that these vouchers are now redeemable from 5:00 AM to 4:59 AM the next day. What does this mean? It means that your daily complimentary vouchers will now reset at 5:00 AM every morning allowing you to get more out of this benefit during prime hours of each day, including your after-midnight drinks.

On top of the schedule change, we want to help you better keep track of the usage of your complimentary drink vouchers, so we’ve added a tracker to the printed receipt that is given upon receiving your complimentary drink. At the bottom of the receipt, there will now be a line of text which indicates how many vouchers you have used towards your daily balance, e.g., “C&A Beverage Voucher [# Used] of [# Total].” You’ll never lose track of your complimentary drink vouchers ever again!

We will be rolling out these changes beginning on all sailings departing on or after December 16th, 2022.

I just wonder....does this mean that you must consume all of your day 1 drinks by 5:00....and that after 5:00 you will now be on day 2 ?

It means 5am on Day 2 would start your Day 2 window for your vouchers

There goes another benefit hack.  This change means no more late night partying with additional drink coupons after midnight.  Of course, this hack only applied to the last night before returning to homeport.

The midnight changeover that's going away has always seemed to be only theoretical - the new day started whenever somebody "flipped the switch" in the system.

Having consumed some of next day vouchers after midnight I kind of like this change.  That extra drink seemed like a good idea at the time but the next day I started out at a disadvantage.

I seem to start every cruise day at a disadvantage. (when comparing my hungover self to those who choose not justify the drink package to its fullest)

Sounds like a sensible change. I wouldn't be shocked to learn many people were thinking a day was from bars opening to closing, not 00:00 to 23:59, then customer service needed to deal with angry people who didn't read the fine print. Moving the reset time to early morning when the bars are guaranteed to be closed should alleviate any complaints they were footing about a midnight reset.
