Farkles
Silly question ! Our last cruise was on Princes and we had the medallions. Do we get room keys on Royal and what do we use to charge items to our rooms when on board ?
FireFishII
If I remember correctly, on RC, you will be given a room key in the shape of a card - just like most hotel room keys. While most will keep their room card in their wallet or purse, I used a lanyard. This card is also used to get on/off of the ship (with the exception of the first day) and will allow you to make purchases (including drinks). You will get your room key when you go to your room (around 1 or 2 pm on embarkation day). The keys/cards will be on your room door. ChessE4
On Mariner in June, we had to slide our SeaPass into the door slot -- no RFID. FireFishII
twangster
Basically it looks like a credit card or hotel key card. You hand it over at a bar or in a store on board and they swipe it much like a credit card. Everything is charged to your onboard account using the card and you use the card to get on and off the ship at each port of call. Think of the olden days before medallions on Princess.
