Symphony out of Cape Liberty

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to throw out there that even though the summer of 2024 dates aren't listed yet, I see there is one date listed for Symphony of the Seas round trip out of Cape Liberty, NJ at the end of Sept 2024. Suspecting it may be Symphony coming up to replace the Oasis in summer of 2024.

Yes, September 24 cruise is live...

Looks like it's a placeholder, or test listing...

They usually do that to see if everything is working before the open up the schedule.

Symphony out NYC is amazing...

Even the already sailed twice on her !!!

Although, the price is very high for that September cruise, it's still closer to 2 yrs away.

And September is right in the center of hurricane season. Prices are usually way cheaper for that period.

What makes it your favorite?  We were on Oasis in May and I'd love to hear how Symphony is different.

Just a personal preference from my wife and I.....Really a Combination of things....

-It was our first Oasis class ship

-Also our first cruise back from the pandemic

-Everything seemed modern, new, updated, clean .....the ship is only 4 years old, it felt more upscale than other ships

-Don't know if technology has improved in a decade but the ship moved through the water silent and gracefully....many times we weren't sure we were moving until we looked outside

-Love the Piano steps coming down from deck 16 (?), fun art in the bathrooms, great fitness center

We have sailed on amplified Oasis twice, she's a great ship, but the rooms and some of the common areas are not as modern.  More smoke on Oasis in the casino too.

Oh man this would be an awesome replacement for Oasis here in NJ. I would have to book a cruise 100%. We have 2 booked but would add a 3rd if Symphony comes here. This is awesome news if it happens.

It's pretty much guaranteed now that they've posted the test load. You'd better get your calendar out and start planning when you can go! 😄

Where is this posted "test loading"? Where can I find that because I can't, have no idea where? Is this a cruise you can book? Thanks for any help.

I thought a test load just is a placeholder. I.e. it will show on the booking site for a few hours as placeholder to, in some cases, determine interest and/or hold a spot while the itineraries are being loaded. You cannot book but it shows up as part of the search. Then after a while the real itineraries become available. In the case of Symphony, I saw it earlier yesterday and by the afternoon it was gone.

Ah, that makes sense because I can't find it. Guess we'll just wait for the full schedule to come out.

The new search page layout makes it easier to see when new cruises have been added.

Right underneath the tabs where you can select cruise dates, departure ports etc., you should see "All cruise search results" with a number after it in brackets. I'm currently seeing 568. When they had the test loads showing that number was up to 576. So if you simply keep an eye on that, you'll know when they add more and then you can start checking for the specific sailings you're interested in.

This number was always visible on the previous interface too but in much smaller letters and you had to scroll all the way down to the bottom to find it.

Love the Oasis from NJ...but I have no problem saying, "Buh bye Cats". Love the performers but found the show 'meh'....just not my cup of tea...or rather...saucer of milk.

Looking forward to new shows on a new Oasis class out of NJ!

We completely agree! My wife loved Cats on Broadway decades ago when she was a child, but not so much on Oasis. We both watched it back in OCT to completion 😱 just to form our own opinion, but never again. Not the performers fault, but it was rather painful to sit through...

It seems Harmony and Symphony have the best Broadway/major productions of the Oasis class to date (have not had the pleasure of sailing either to date)... fingers-crossed for Symphony!
