mike2608
I know this is in the past, but I read an article on Google news that RCL broke all types of records over the Black Friday weekend enticing people to sign up for future cruises and other types of deals. This might be what was crashing their website. Just wondering. FoxboroCruiser
JohnK6404
Yep... as the old Royal ad campaign used to say... everyone is itching to "Get Out There!" including all of us! Here's an article Matt posted yesterday on this topic: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2022/12/01/sky-high-demand-breaks-royal-caribbean-single-day-booking-record-again
DoomSlayer
They are starting to break a record in the time it takes to get refunded for repriced items from the Black Friday deals. twangster
No wonder rates are trending upward. It's been hard to find deals.  I've resorted to booking MSC.  AlmondFarmer, tjcruisers, DoomSlayer and 4 others 1

asquared17
we got some great balcony deals on oasis class ships for two of our three cruises. i think it just varies on your sailing time and a great TA who can offer some perks/group rates. just really depends. that said, icon class for a CP balcony or a JS on oasis... kind of makes your head spin. i know she's the newest and the biggest, but woof. I know! It's getting even crazier. We booked our midship OV balcony right after they opened up Icon bookings and we chose the least expensive sailing at that time (really worked out as we preferred May and we have yet to sail that itinerary). When we booked it in OCT, it was $3,200... now it's up to $4,300 when I price it! Â Â Â asquared17

I don't review MSC here. It won't be my first cruise with them. I like the ship. I prefer Royal but I won't pay double or triple to sail Royal. teddy, FloatyBoaty, WAAAYTOOO and 1 other
WAYNO
And because they are successfully selling so many cruises, it's no wonder they have little interest in answering phone inquiries or emails. Why waste time on a paid customer when they've they've got so many more in line, ready to book.

It used to be about 20%." "... And so we see there is a lot of opportunity to close that gap here over time."- Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean Group CEO From: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2022/11/03/royal-caribbean-going-after-orlando-vacationers JohnK6404

I agree that a land-based vacation is looking like a better deal to me. I think Royal has closed the gap considerably in my opinion. The cruise is a year away so we might still cancel the cruise and get a refund. I wonder how long it will take for the refund to be processed.
