lv2flip24
do leggings count as long pants for the ice skaing rquirement or do they have to be real pants?
CrimsonCruiser
I think leggings would be fine. The main reasons I believe they want long pants is because it's cold and if you fall, the ice that's been cut up can be sharp and hurt your legs. I'd lean best toward athletic or denim-like leggings vs simple lightweight under-a-dress ones.

I have been asking my daughter for years if leggings are really pants. She always says they are. lv2flip24, asquared17, PPPJJ-GCVAB and 2 others
mistertomatohead
On my recent Navigator sailing they just wanted the knees covered. One kid wore his brother’s shorts which were long enough to cover his knees but not much beyond that. They even said pajamas were okay. tjcruisers
Leggings would probably count. Coming from being involved in hockey all my life (player, coach, trainer), I wear jeans. While the skates available on the ship are somewhat dull, they'll still cut bare skin. The long pants provides a level of protection from that in case of minor situations i.e somebody doing a crossover and clips you. Whenever I went on the ship the majority skating aren't strong skaters, so you'll have a lot of people falling with their feet coming in the air which increases the risk of getting hit/nicked with a skate blade. The jeans would provide a little more cut resistance to leggings
