ckruetze
OK, as a none American I think I have read everything I need to know for now about tipping (how much, when where, etc.) So I think for now I'm good and I know how to behave on my next cruise to not stand out. The thing I haven't found anywhere, what should my kids do (8 and 6 at the first cruise with Royal) when they walk up to a bar and order a juice or soda. They both have a drink package. Do they have to tip or is it ok if children don't tip? As I don't really want them walking around with cash. I'm fully aware of that you don't have to tip at all etc. But I'm just interested in hearing what other parents do or tell their children to do. tjcruisers
When we purchased the soda package a few weeks ago for our upcoming cruise, we notice the gratuity was already added. Never noticed it before, the only reason it stood out to me this time as we're on 14 day cruise.
smokeybandit
No one has to tip extra for anything since tips are included in everything you buy anyway. I wouldn't at all be concerned about a kid getting a drink without tipping extra. Momof4crazytocruise and Morganno
Srp431
My kids have never tipped extra with the soda package for all 7 of their cruises. I also haven't with my soda package . All they do is push a button and fill your glass at the bar CruiseGus
Pooch
I think what you are asking is should kids slip the bartender a dollar for their soda as an adult might for their cocktail. The answer is no. CruiseGus, Dlove707, Momof4crazytocruise and 2 others
mac66
No tipping on ships. The tip is already added, that's enough. CruiseGus and Morganno
Pooch
No, there is tipping on ships if you so choose. You don’t have to but you can. No one expects this extra tipping from a child.

I WILL tip as an adult getting some drinks and services... I will not make my kid do the same (and I don't think a bartender would expect it) WAAAYTOOO
Jkaczano
My kids have had a refreshment package on several RC cruises. They do not give a cash tip if they get a bottle of water at the bar. They are teens so we’ve taught them to add a dollar or 2 to signed receipts such as milkshakes at Johnny Rockets.
