Window view with Teppanyaki

It will depend on what ship you're on. Odyssey and Spectrum have floor-to-ceiling windows at Teppanyaki. Oasis Class ships have just a small porthole but you won't be sitting directly next to it (you'll be in the middle of the room). Voyager/Freedom Class ships have no windows in the Izumi restaurant.

I would request it when you are making the reservation!

There really isn’t a way to request one as it will just depend 100% on the availability of those tables based on your reservation time.  If you have a 8pm reservation and those window view tables went to those who have 7:30 and 7:45 reservations, then there is nothing you can do to get sat there. Since the teppanyaki fills up so quickly, don’t count on there being available seats at a table if you were to just show up and make a window table request. So it’s really just a luck of the draw. It’s not like eating at any other restaurant on board where you can simply wait for a table to come open. It’s what table is open at your reservation time. You won’t have the option to just wait until one is open as that would throw off both your 8pm reservation table and the reservations for those who’s table you would be waiting to open up.

What time does Teppanyaki open for dinner?  I thought if we made and early reservation and got there early that we may be able to get a window seat.  We like to eat early anyway.

First seating is around 5:30 for most restaurants including specialty. But that slot and anything before 8pm in general will go fast. If a ship has consecutive cruisers, they will get first dibs at dining spots. Suites pax with concierge/genie help and then all the before 11am boarders. Requesting a window table at the specialty restaurants isn't the same as requesting one in the MDR. There is very limited space. That isn't to say that you can't try, just to temper expectations.
