Allure first cruise from Galveston (Trade Event - Not for sale)

Is anyone else going on the 4 night trade event cruise November 9-13th from Galveston to Costa Maya?  The first paid cruise is a 7 nighter leaving on November 13th.

We received an invite for the 4 night event a couple weeks ago.  Obviously, we said yes, but have never been on one of the trade events before and was just curious.  We are supposed to get our cabin assignment by the end of September, so even thought we don't yet know what kind or where our cabin is, it should be a fun event regardless.

Cheers!

Tim

I probably will be there. Depends how many cabins our travel agency gets. If it’s only one cabin my co-worker Kym will go. She books a lot more Royal then I do. If we get two cabins, thenI will get to go!

But my family and I are booked on the Allure on the Dec 30th cruise in a 2BR Grand Suite. Out first time in  a 2BR on an Oasis cabin which we are very much looking forward to.

We will be in star loft on December 23rd, so we will wave as we get off :).

So, this cruise will only have people that are in the travel industry?

Do they fill the ship?

I'm not in the travel industry, but it is by invite.  The only thing mentioned by the invite was i'm a crown and anchor member and I have a RC credit card.

The fact I live in Houston may have played a role.  And I've never done one of these so I was curious myself how it would be.....

It's funny, we are higher up in C&A and Casino Royale but did not receive an invite even though sailing more than once a month. We have had issues receiving invites before and think they have not corrected it. When Liberty went on their "test" cruise we received no invite but found the cruise listed in our "past cruises" section for several months after it occurred. This was funny as we did not receive an invite so we went on another cruise instead.

Managed to get on this sailing! What’s the scoop on a trade event cruise? Is everything open? Are there any hidden fees to know about? Any other general tips/tricks? This is my first RC cruise

May I ask how you got on a trade cruise and it's your first cruise? No criticism here, just genuinely curious since it seems strange.

Essentially, everyone has a free drink package. Specialty dining is on invite only because it's free.

There will be a lot of cabins available to go in and view (check cruise compass for which ones).

Spa, excursions still cost extra.

Wifi should be free.

I'm assuming all of this based on past events, but it's been the trend.

The below was in the PDF they sent as a link once registered.

I am scheduled to attend this event and I am interested in upgrading my cabin assignment as well several other questions. Does anyone have a contact for this special event? Royal Caribbean cannot help me as it is a special event and I must go through the administrators. I won this trip through a contest on a radio station. Thank you.

Don't think you can change per the document for this sailing.

I was wondering this myself.
