Adriana
Good afternoon! Would you please share your thoughts on Enchantment? I have been reading some of the comments, but not sure which way to go. I am considering the 12 night Southern Caribbean cruise out of Baltimore on the Enchantment. I was on her, but waaay back on one of my first cruises in early 2000’s. I would be sailing solo AND over Thanksgiving. I wonder if 12 nights is a touch too long (days 1-4 and 10-12 are sea days) for Enchantment as a solo. I believe that the entertainment, dining and activities are minimal, but staff is great. I know she will have some age showing, but fine lines are simply character and signs of a happy life! I am cool with being with myself, but cautious if too long and, big point here; if she rocks/you can feel more movement. I tend to get sea sick easily. I am trying to make my decision and am so torn. I know it is all personal choice, but would love to hear thoughts and experiences. .. Thank you!
Adriana
PS; Also, do you think an inside cabin would be okay? I have only done outside, balcony and suite (upgrade) for years. I love the solid sleep you get, but wondering if too much cabin fever for twelve nights. … Thanks again!
DandA
I have been on her sister ship Granduer on a 9 night in December and the second sea day was really rough on the way back it was less rocky but still could feel the motion. On the way down i heard of a few who had a rough time. I did a 14 day on Jewel this year and must admit I was ready to get off and go home. We'll be leaving on an 8 night on Enchantment this week, (first time in an inside cabin) so I'll know how she is after that. I've not sailed solo, but if you're outgoing I'm sure you'll find friendly people to interact with; otherwise bring something to keep you occupied. From what I remember ages ago, it had its rocky moments, to the point people lost balance and held onto plates (back years ago before she was extended). I was afraid it would still be an issue. The longest cruise I have done was a 9 night NE and Canada cruise on Anthem and felt it was a great length. So, I hear you. If it had more stops, I would be less wary, but it has 7 days at sea. … I can be outgoing and social for sure, was also hoping to have cruise related things to do like activities and entertainment. The Compasses I have been able to review show very little entertainment, just some games at night.

Our first cruise was on Oasis and our second cruise was Grandeur. the second day leaving Baltimore along the Carolinas it was pretty rough pitching and rolling, we had to time the rolling to go from side to side, we found it amusing. According to what I see they have one show each night that is shown at two different times, trivia each day, singer in the Schooner Bar in the evening, band in Boleros and in the Centrum. Some game shows are done in the Centrum. What I like about this size ship is with less people you run into the same people over and over and get to know them. TJP
I did a 12 night on Enchantment in April. It was wonderful! Plenty to do, and plenty of time to just relax. I did have an ocean view room (first time, usually do inside). We met a woman sailing solo, and added her to our trivia team several times. I think you'll be fine. Adriana
@DandA, thanks! That major rocking makes me so nervous about seasickness! I do recall that, but was hoping the expansion took care of it. It sounds like you did have a nice time, though. @TJP, thank you! That does make me feel better! I wish there were more ports, but one can have a great time anywhere!
Charlie M.
Can anyone tell me if ice is available during the cruise? Are there ice machines near the cabins? We are cruising in May 2024 on the Enchantment of the Seas and my wife will need ice for an ice bag during our cruise.

Pattycruise
I had a deck 8 aft interior and could smell the smokestacks of the ship. It was enough to give me a headache-I’m sensitive to smells. I had crew who said they couldn’t smell it and crew who could. They finally moved me, much closer to midship. Night and day. I’m almost sure there were no coolers (fridge) in the interiors. mine was only an 8 night. I traveled as a solo. I do spend time in the casino. The ship is beautiful. Ask for a shared table at dinner (ask via however you booked) snd once onboard head directly to the dining room and verify you are at a shared table. Join any Facebook group for your sailing and create a meet and greet for solo travelers about 1 hour before sail away. It’s a great way to meet people. I’m not sure what you are looking for as a solo-reading, internet etc. clearly you’ll have plenty of time to do either. as for motion sickness, I bring my own Bonine (meclizine) and Dramamine original formula, along with ginger chews. Once onboard look for green soles and put a few in your cabin-great for sea sickness. You can also drink ginger ale or ginger beer (it’s not alcoholic) to help settle your stomach.
