Free cruise offers

So clearly 200 points is the new target to start receiving offers from Royal Caribbean. Typically how much does one have to spend to hit that threshold?

Slot machines: $5 bet equals 1 point, Video Poker: $10 bet equals 1 point, Tables: who knows? arbitrary

Not quite true, I got 320 point my first cruise on a B2B and 212 on the second. Still no offers. I achieved the 212 points with $100 because I played and won, lost and won and then ended that cruise with negative $100.

Are the offers all free cruises or at the 200 pts level they are just discounts? Hopefully discounted more than on the website.  If I could get 200 points for a free cruise with just being down $100 that's very lucky to me. You also need the discipline to walk away when you're down or made the 200 point level. That doesn't apply to me.

At 1 point per $5 bet, with a payout of 85% (found via a Google search), it would cost an average of $150 to get 200 points via slot machines.

At 200 points it is going be discounts off cruises or if there are free offers, very limited windows. There were tons of free cruises before capacity increased. Now I think there will be less free offer with the lower points.

They update the onboard instant certificate offer sheet monthly.

Currently 400 points is the lowest to qualify for any instant certificate and that's only for $100 off.

800 points is $200 off or a free interior room on selected sailings..you have to pick from the list available, have to book through NextCruise while onboard (or least buy a NextCruise open booking) and the cruise you want on the list has to have casino rooms available.

I think the values have increased recently.

On my Sept Nav sailing it was 900 points for $250 off and a free interior if you booked with Nextcruise.

This was from my Indy sailing this past weekend..started at 400 for anything ($100 off) but 800 for $200 or a free interior. I didn't look past those 2 points.

Since they don't offer me any comps, I'm always looking for any potential instant cert deals I can get 😂

I have heard the offers vary from ship to ship in that some have the new updated thresholds and other's the old one. I always check because I need to know how long I need to play for 🤣. I am on Harmony and Odyssey next month so I will compare.

It's one thing to target JUST new customers but they might be now devaluing loyal players. Casinos have typically given much better offers to NEW players given the same coin-in, even ones that haven't put in any coin or just matched. It's clear by them matching new players and apparently making it harder to those that just played a little. In the industry these are called teaser offers. Take advantage of them while you can. Carnival has their Funmatch, now it seems Royal is doing something similar. The general rule is when they match and/or you are new to them, it's better to hit that sweet spot and don't over spend to get their teaser offers. The problem is finding the sweet spot. It's a lot easier when they have a match program. As a brand new player they know nothing about you other than the match and your potential losses, you can take advantage of that honeymoon period without ever committing.

I wont pretend to know who they target or why, but I get constant free cruise offers, both in the mail and online.  We are close to D+, but at the same time, a friend of ours that just recently cruised for the first time is also receiving frequent offers from Royal.🤔

You being D+ has no bearing on Casino Royale offers, it is whether you are choice, prime, etc. The casino program uses your C&A number but isn't based on that status.

I do believe they are targeting people who don't/haven't taken advantage of a lot of offers. But also because of capacity I believe the offers have been reduced. As I was getting a lot before June of 2022 and after that they dried up.

My guess is it anyone who tells you they played $20 in the casino and got offers is mad 🤣 You can get promo offers on each cruise based on how many points you accumulate during that cruise. You also get a free yearly cruise for being Prime status or higher in the casino.  Finally, you can also get comped offers and those vary dramatically as people above have noted, it is hard to know their analytics on for the comped offers. But I just had a deep dive into this with a casino host that I know well and some things that seem to matter are (a) your location , (b) how much you lost on your cruises in the casino, and (c) your average play per day. I have noticed people that seem to lose moderate to high amounts and are new to cruising may get extra offers (even more than those of us with many more points and lower losses).  But in the end, nothing in life is free 😊

I did not  insinuate I was given free offers because of a D+ or any other level.   My point was in fact contrary to the suggestion that newer cruisers get more or more frequent offers.   I'm a D, our cruising buddy is barely Gold, and we all receive the same offers at the same time, based on our casino activity.

Your post reads in a way that your casino status has to do with C&A status.

But your post sort of proves the point. Especially if you both are receiving the same number, or close to, in offers. A person who has just sailed once or twice and possible played once or twice is receiving offers on par with someone who has probably played more and sailed more. That would mean they are targeting newbies.

  • 3 months later...

I am a newbie to casino offers.  I finished a B2B cruise yesterday and when I log onto Club Royale it shows 2 offers of $200 off, and a Balcony or Oceanview offer plus $75 freeplay with an expiry date of 28 February.   When I go to view itineraries to look up the free cruise, nothing comes up apart from a greyed small jigsaw looking piece.   Even hitting the Redeem button, no itineraries appear.

Apart from the first $200 offer, I received nothing from the casino before we disembarked.

You have to scroll on the grey square and make it bigger. It will be a list of sailings available the month of Feb and March 2023. If you want to take advantage, you can call, and they will tell you the ships and dates.

I'm new to this... trying to figure it out.  They just sent me an email stating that I'm Prime.  If I'm getting mailers offering OV rooms on smaller ships and I want to book a balcony room on an Oasis ship, will they typically offer any discount?  What if the sailing is 6 months away?

My wife and I just got back from Mariner and I myself have never done the point system before. I had I think 500 plus points. Not only do I like that you can't keep the points but I can't even use the tracker that I found. So I will not hold my breath for any offers. Think that system only works if you drop tons of money, that seems the only way to move up in that scale

Casino discount is 5%.
your offers are your offers, you can call club Royale to see what the upgrade fee is, on smaller ships it’s usually hefty to go from OV to balcony but it can’t hurt to ask.
check their website on a regular basis, by the time you get a mailer that offer has been in your account for a week, some sailings fill quickly.  Waiting for a mailer means you might miss out
