JB1082
What's the best part of dining on Royal? I would argue its all the variety and crew members will always say yes, what else? Is it better than Vegas (I've never been, but maybe it is??)
FireFishII
I would think it is the variety. Between Windjammer buffet, the main dining room (MDR), and all the specialty restaurants, you will find something for everyone. I believe my mistake eating on Allure was going to more than 1 specialty restaurant a day. It was still cheaper than getting the UDP but stop being special after day 4. I think my siblings wanted to try all the specialty restaurants. We ate in the MDR only twice and never at the Windjammer for dinner. We only at at the Windjammer for breakfast and I wish we had some breakfasts in the MDR. Oh well. Next time.
Ryan79
It’s not even close to Vegas, but that doesn’t mean RCL food isn’t good it’s just not in the same class. There is nothing on a cruise ship that is comparable to a $800 meal in Vegas or even a $200 one.

Gadget Hackwrench
I remember the days when Royal Caribbean didn't have specialty dining on ships. The big special meal was called the Midnight Buffet. You could find all sorts of amazing foods. It was part of everyday dining that has largely disappeared. HeWhoWaits
The best part of dining on Royal is that you can get as fancy as you want or as basic as you want. There's an option for everyone. The second best part is that you can eat as often as you want and almost whenever you want (I say "almost whenever" because there's no guarantee on the timing of receiving what you order from room service and there are some overnight gaps in the availability of other options). teddy and ChessE4
ChessE4
The two best features for me are (1) desserts, and (2) nicer entrees than I eat at home. These features are reinforced by the consistently good service we receive. While I recognize and appreciate the menu variety, I actually don't eat most of the dishes I see in Windjammer. Yet the ones that remain, and the ones I choose in the MDR are generally good--superior to the leftovers I eat at home two out of three nights. asquared17

There has only been 2 $0.99 buffets since the mid-80s that I know of...the Boardwalk Casino (which is long gone) and Arizona Charlie's. Trust me when I say, those buffets made Carnival and Royal's buffets look EXOTIC. Powdered eggs? No thanks. LOL
CruisingNewb
Best thing about dining Royal....or any cruise....within minutes, you are back in your room for a nap. And no....Nothing is like Vegas dining. Nothing. I say this with extreme prejudice because I was born and raised there and had a career as a chef there. That’s how we’d stretch the per diem when we went to Nellis for Red Flags. WAAAYTOOO
