dclarmn
My wife and I along with our 18 year-old daughter will be sailing on Explorer of the Seas in December. Really looking forward to it but really feeling a little lost even after a lot of reading and web surfing. Here's a few things I'd love to know. Is the Seapass used exclusively for purchases or can individual credit cards be used? When are you charged for speciality restaurants? Before or after dining and is gratuity automatically added to the charge? My wife and daughter drink a lot of juices at meals. Are there a variety of juices to choose from in the non-speciality restaurants and is there a charge? Are there age limits to certain areas of the ship such as casinos? Is the Quest game a little to racy for my 18 year-old to observe? Would she be allowed in? Is there a favorite shuttle service from Orlando to Port Canaveral? Preciate it. Matt
Welcome! Hope we can help you out..... Is the Seapass used exclusively for purchases or can individual credit cards be used? Yes, cash is not accepted outside of the casino onboard. You can however go to Guest Services at any time and charge money back to your credit card(s) or apply cash to the account. When are you charged for speciality restaurants? Before or after dining and is gratuity automatically added to the charge? If you reserve in advance online, you will pay the specialty restaurant fee then. If you book onboard you will get a bill after you finish dining. Gratuity is included in the price. My wife and daughter drink a lot of juices at meals. Are there a variety of juices to choose from in the non-speciality restaurants and is there a charge? There are a few juices for free offered in the Windjammer and main dining room. More juice is available in breakfast. OJ, apple juice, milk, water, lemonade, and fruit flavored waters. Are there age limits to certain areas of the ship such as casinos? Guests eighteen (18) years of age and older can play in the casino except for Alaska cruises, where the age is 21. Is the Quest game a little to racy for my 18 year-old to observe? Would she be allowed in? Allowed, yes. Up to you if appropriate for her. I'd consider watching clips from YouTube of the Quest to get a sense of what's involved. Is there a favorite shuttle service from Orlando to Port Canaveral? I always drive a rental car but Royal Caribbean offers a shuttle service too. Can't comment beyond that. Post back other questions you have! Marc
Is the Seapass used exclusively for purchases or can individual credit cards be used? There is one small exception to what Matt said about this. It may be possible to purchase more expensive items such as jewelry directly onto a credit card. It's been a few years, but I did buy a Citizen watch onboard Majesty of the Seas and was able to purchase it directly onto my MasterCard instead of having the purchase flow through the SeaPass. (I was thinking that this would help for warranty issues if the purchase were direct.) Matt
michelle
I have used FL Tours and Quicksilver which were both good transfer companies. I've also driven a car rental with Avis which Iiked and I have parked at the Pier - all different depending on what you want to do.

monctonguy
Lots of different shuttle services. Acutally, quite a few of the hotels in Orlando have packages that includes a shuttle their and back. To each their own. Private taxi/shuttles arent much more expesive either for what you are getting. WhiteSoxFan
Regarding the Quest, at 18 they are adults and I do not think that anything at the Quest is really that bad. However, this is subjective and dependent on your level of converatism in these matters.

Matt
You don't have to participate. I just go because its fun to watch That's right. You can opt to watch instead of play. It's a fun experience eitherway! ATXCruiser
Danzigman
If you place money in your onboard account and don't use it all what happens? Do youy get the cash back or do they give you credits or something?
Matt
If you place money in your onboard account and don't use it all what happens? Do youy get the cash back or do they give you credits or something? Unused onboard credit is lost. Not sure about if you place too much money. My advice is only pay down your account after you have a few charges on there. As long as you do it before the end of your cruise, you wont get any charges on your credit card. Marc
I don't think he's talking about onboard credit, but instead making a cash deposit into his SeaPass account at the beginning of the cruise. That money should be fully refundable at the end of the cruise. Danzigman
