Cruisin Dovers
In the cruise planner will the excursion discounts change at all the closer you get to sailing date? Less discounts or greater discounts? Can a person get a better deal by going to vendor sites directly?
Rackham
From what I've seen, prices go up closer to sailing. Depending on the vendor, yes. Though at least with the excursions I've compared, the vendor price isn't that much of a break if you're purchasing the excursion during a sale in the cruise planner. Doesn't hurt to check though. Ryan79
Some do…some don’t…..some won’t. There is no standard rule that will apply to all sailings, all ports and all excursions. Yes, you can often get a better price by going directly through the vendor if possible. RC adds about 10-15% from what I’ve seen. However not all vendors who are contracted with RC will allow outside bookings.
JohnK6404
Agree... no formula, rhyme or reason... last week before the new CP "sale", the Coco Beach Club day pass was $160.99 and the Overwater Cabanas were $1,799.00... Now... WAAAYTOOO, Rackham, ellcee and 1 other

IzzyB
Supply and Demand. If there happens to be a tour that is less popular that one excursion may go down, but the norm is prices go up as they get more booked.
asquared17
thinking we will have to get creative with how we plan our cruise activities this time around. not sure if the excursions or things in the cruise planner will calm down in another year or two, when RCCL gets back in the black from covid, but i sure am hoping that they do. FireFishII
The best advice I was given is to book your excursion early. If you see a lower price later, you can always cancel and rebook at the lower price. Just don't get scammed by thinking that a 50% sale off the latest is cheaper than the original price. Many times I noticed that it was the same or higher. Ryan79
