Is there any fee to change room on same sailing?

Recommended Posts

I have a 1 BR ATS reservation for our Dec. cruise on Harmony. We got this suite because my daughter’s family was also going with 3 young ones. So we could watch the shows and the kids could play or nap while watching. They are no longer going now so we would like to go to a Sky loft suite. We booked in Dec of 21 and got our room at just over $7k for 8 day cruise and the sky suite then was a couple hundred cheaper. Well now the sky are over $10k  (ATS are all booked) so would I have to come up with $3k to in reality step down in a room according to RCL pricing when I originally booked?

@Templecruiser did you mean Crown Loft Suite (or maybe the Star Loft Suite) on Harmony?  Sky loft would be on the Quantum class ships.  I’m thinking you meant CLS but don’t want to assume.

If you would stay with the same room category you could switch with no charge, but once you change categories (especially if jumping from Sky to Star class with the Star Loft Suite, expect there would be a repricing.

Whoops, meant Crown loft, but still Sky class room. I’m more moving down in room and they would get well over $10k for my room as it’s the lowest level 1 bedroom with largest deck.

Have you tried contacting RC? If all the ATS are currently booked, it would seem like they would easily sell yours at a premium and move you to a CLS if one was still available. Might be worth a try? You never know.

Happy Cruising!

Pricing is very dynamic on a category by category basis.  One week a Grand Suite is more than a loft suite and the next cruise the loft suite os more than the grand suite.  Some weeks there are no loft suites available so they can't move you into one.  Keep in mind too there are side facing loft suites and rear facing loft loft suites.

When changing categories Royal will use the prevailing rate of the new cabin on the day you call.   They don't give you a break on perceived views or value that this one is nicer than that one, they will use the rate of the new cabin to determine your fare difference.
