twangster
Miami based but very few cruises from the US. Still it's encouraging news. CruiserNic
karl_nj
This article is wrong, it's amazing how many news outlets keep writing articles about this without doing any fact checking. Like, perhaps, looking at the Azamara website. Azamara still requires testing out of US Ports. When they announced this, they put the above chart on the website. Take a look at the line for the Port of Miami. This chart didn't exist before they announced this policy, so it's not an issue of it being "out of date". Azamara is just matching what Viking and the NCL Brands did, not matching what Virgin has done. However, Azamara not currently have any ships sailing out of Miami at the moment, so the point is kind of moot. ChessE4
Shari
They have a caveat that testing will be required if any port of call requires the testing. So the Miami yes is probably due to many Caribbean countries still requiring it so they are assuming when they sail out of Miami on 1 and 12 December 2022 then the ports of call most likely would require it. "Miami based" because no one would click the article if they said "Azamara" since it's such a small line. Click bait isn't dead! Darrell B.
We are on Quest next April out of Toyko/Yokohama and I doubt Azamara - Japan will drop pre cruise testing by then. If Testing Is still required that will make our trip more stressful as we are going 3 days before the cruise and will have to find Covid Testing There. In all cases you would have to be subjected to the protocols of the ports as well. I can't see Asian ports dropping testing and vax stuff even in 2024 or in fact, at all.
