Meangreen
My wife got remarried to myself a couple years ago and she has one daughter who is still a minor that has her dad’s last name going on a cruise with us next week. We read through our cruise packet and are trying to figure out what all documents we will need for her to board the ship. Help please? Sea Squirrel
We always have a notarized letter from my stepdaughter’s dad when we sail, her birth certificate, her passport and my wife’s divorce decree. We’ve never been asked for any of it by Royal but we definitely always have it all ready. We were asked for all of it once flying to Europe so we don’t chance it. Here is some info: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-family-legal-documents-do-i-need-to-board

ETA: it wasn't looked at last month getting on Oasis out of Bayonne, but better safe than sorry Edited July 12, 2022 by sleepy425 Sea Squirrel and USCG Teacher

Meangreen
So if we have the consent form filled out will we still need her birth certificate?
Sea Squirrel
That is a question for Royal. We’ve always had it but we may be over cautious. Hit them up on FB Msgr or Twitter. They are quick to reply.

While it probably would have been safe with just the passport, we sent the birth certificate too. But Royal only looked at the passport, nothing else. Pooch
You need identification for everyone. Has nothing to do with whether or not your last names match. Yes, you will need her birth certificate.
Stelkp
I’m on a cruise right now and I have a different last name as my son and there was no problem. Showed only passports.
