What is allowed back onboard as far as food & drinks after a shore excursion?

Recommended Posts

Nothing open (opened package of chips, open water bottle/soda), nothing fresh (sandwich, fruit, etc), nothing alcoholic.  The first 2 you would have to toss (if you have your own water bottle you might have to dump the contents, but not sure about that), the last would be taken from you (assuming closed container) & they will deliver it to you on the last night for you to pack & bring home.  I believe if it is food in a sealed package, you can bring it on - at least, we brought on some rum cakes we bought at one of the tours. Not sure about sealed sodas - they might let you get away with one, but not a case unless it's embarkation day.

Basically, don't plan on being able to bring anything back with you except for liquor or food that is factory sealed.

I agree with @Matt. I had to have one last chicken sandwich for the rode from PDCC and just put it in my backpack as I got back on the ship. No problems and I was able to enjoy my sandwich on my balcony.

Is disembarking and reboarding at Perfect Day treated just like disembarking and reboarding in other ports?

Having never been to CocoCay (first time will be next week), I have been assuming that the island is just an extension of the ship without some of the same requirements.

You might be right; the casino is open all day while docked at PDCC. They also bring food and such from the ship to the island. But you still have to go through the metal detector. But I have seen people with food from St. Thomas and Cozumel before.

I'm sure most of this policy applies to wherever you get on the ship from:

htps://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy

What kind of food or drinks am I allowed to bring onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship?

A

One of the best things about cruising is the food! And there will be many dining options available to suit most tastes and preferences. However you are free to bring non-perishable prepackaged food in limited quantities.

While we have many drink offerings onboard, you are welcomed to bring select beverages onboard.

On boarding day, each stateroom may bring up to two 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne, as long as one guest is of legal drinking age. Corkscrews will be provided for guests to enjoy their drinks in their stateroom. If guests wish to enjoy their wine or champagne in our dining or bar venues, there will be a corkage fee applied.

Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Milk and distilled water brought on for infant, medical, or dietary use are permitted.

Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the two permitted bottles on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. These bottles will be returned on the last day onboard for enjoyment once home.

Good evening,

I understand that you cannot bring fruit on board to eat on board.

I also understand that you cannot bring fruit from outside of the US into the US.

However, my question is, can I bring a bushel of oranges onboard from Port Canaveral to take off on disembarkation day at Port Cape Liberty, like alcohol that others bring on board, to consume at home in January & February.

I suspect the answer is no, but I can hope until I receive a solid no answer.

Have a great day!
