Funeegal
Hi - Can someone clarify the rule for minor children and C&A status? A minor child has the same status as their parent in the C&A Society until they turn 18 and then they have to earn their own points? My newly turned 18 year old was at Emerald level (2 points away from Diamond). For this next cruise, they appear to have zero points. Do minors have to start all over at 18? I thought this rule meant my child would keep all points earned to date, but now has to earn points on their own going forward. For some reason, as I type this, I think I may have answered my own question, but want to confirm. My kiddo starts from zero again.
Matt
Your assumption is right. If your kid doesn't have any points to their account, I suggest talking to the Loyalty Ambassador on your next cruise to rectify their account. Or you can call Crown and Anchor phone number Funeegal and CruisingOz 1
twangster
I'd call C&A and deal with it now, if they will talk to you now that he is an adult. Does his account show his past cruises? CruisingOz
smokeybandit
The kid obviously should have all the points that were actually accrued as a passenger. Hopefully just some glitch in the transition in the system from connected minor to standalone C&A account CruisingOz
Lovetocruise2002
If your child has their own C&A number, they should have the points. My girls who are almost 14 and 16, I call C&A from time to time just to check their point balance to make sure it is correct. I agree with the other posts, definitely call C&A to find out what is happening. They should have points for every cruise they have sailed on. All things are ok. keep an eye on it. ours was all ok until they decided to change it and we had to get our 18yr olds rightful status back on the first day of our last cruise, but was warned it might get changed again. Pattycruise
My daughter turned 19 this past year. (18 during Covid/no sailing). Her C&A has had some issues. We knew about the points for cruises she’d been on vs. the level she achieved under me, that was not the problem. She enjoys cruising so much and is motivated to get her C&A fixed that this very shy girl has taken up the charge to contact C&A and get things fixed. Well, she’ll be calling again since her last cruise shows points in next to the sailing but we’re not added to her total. Royal math ! Morganno
Sorry to come into the conversation with another question? How do you get an account for your child?

Call a couple weeks after the cruise and get their C&A number then...But don't wait for a long time...5 years ago we went on a family cruise and it was the first time on RC for a few of the kids...fast forward to 5 years and later and we are doing it again...one of the kids didn't have a C&A number and the parents had to prove that the child was on the cruise. They ended up sending a picture from formal night to prove she was there. Their other 2 kids had numbers...so weird, but all taken care of after a bit of work.
