Star Class surprise, opinions wanted

Recommended Posts

My son has been reading for a while but added an account/profile so we could ask this question.  I’m hijacking his account for a minute since my screen could be recognized by family.

We have a Star Class trip planned and are taking the parents (grandparents). They know we are experienced cruises and would be doing the planning, no matter what since they have only done one previous.

Right now the fact that we have a suite in Star Class is a secret and it could be a fun surprise at the port and walking into the suite.  Or do we let the genie out of the bottle now?

Wait if possible,

We did the immediate family last holiday season, told the kids that it was an inside cabin (they were happy just to go on a cruise).  When we got to the dock it went from a fun trip to a fantastic trip.  The kids were blown away, so was the rest of us!  It is hard to do, but sometimes bending the truth is worth the wait.

Do the parents/grandparents use the internet/youtube?   So much fun of any trip is the anticipation and dreaming, so if they are the types to read internet reviews and watch cruising videos, knowing that they will be star class could add to that excitement.  They could read and watch all the things that will be available to them and spend many happy weeks dreaming about it.  Telling them could still be a surprising occasion!

I think both are great.  What I'd try to do is figure out how to get more bang for the buck.  Will they be totally overcome with joy when they get escorted into the ship and to the suite or will they enjoy doing the research thing.  Either way, it's your call.  I'm sure it will be fun and a joy either way.
