AdventureKenandCar
We are scheduled for a Baltic cruise on Voyager of the Seas leaving Stockholm on July 3. Unfortunately, SAS airlines has announced that they may be on strike a couple days before. If, for some reason they do strike, and we can't get on any flights, obviously we won't be able to cruise on this sailing. Because it is "30 days or less" within the cancellation period with RC, we will be charged 100% of total price (no refund) for the missed trip. So, here's my question: can we transfer/reschedule our trip to a different sailing? Does RC give credit for something like this? Or are we S.O.L? Pattycruise
If you booked with Royal direct I would call and inquire. If you used a travel agent I would ask them. AdventureKenandCar
AspiringCruisePlanner
If you booked prior to March 31, the booking is still eligible for CWC benefits, but the cancellation would have to cancel on the Thursday before your sail date to get the 100% future cruise credit. Unless you are flying out Thursday or earlier, you probably won't know whether your flight will be canceled. So, you're probably going to want some better protection. I'm fairly certain that you can still purchase travel insurance, even this close to the trip. Travel insurance while traveling overseas is a good idea in any case. Make sure it has sufficient trip interruption coverage to cover the cost of the cruise. AdventureKenandCar
JC Pats
Do you have travel insurance with trip interruption coverage? If so, you cold file a claim for the losses (couldn't make the cruise due to a strike). If you booked it through a TA, they could try to rebook you on another airline (or you could try, but that might be a nightmare). As for moving the trip, you can't lift and shift, but you could (as mentioned above) use Cruise with Confidence and cancel the booking and get FCC. You MIGHT be able to get the credit applied to another cruise really quick, but they've been averaging 45 days on FCC issuance so no guarantees. I would definitely check your insurance policy (if you have one) and/or consult with your travel agent (again, if you have one).
