I.e I have a room booked, solo, for an oasis class sailing, but then I also have a casino promo. I was wondering if it was possible to book another room on that same sailing in my name, with another person included. But I would stay in the currently booked room and the other person would stay in the other room? Basically, I am asking in one person can book multiple rooms. For example, a family is booked in a star class room and wants grandma who is booked in a balcony room to also get the DBP and UDP benefits while being able to sleep in a different room. I'd imagine there could be issues when counting passengers for the manifest and muster station assignments, but I haven't heard any solid answer to this question. I really don't know, I don't have an authoritative answer. But, I'm thinking that as long as you are willing to take responsibility for what ever happens in both cabins and you are a paying customer, why not. Don't parents book multiple rooms for a large family? Isn't that what usually happens with adjoining rooms? Just a thought. I'm sure some TAs in here could answer that for you. Swar Posted June 23, 2022 Report Share Posted June 23, 2022 Short answer: You can pay for as many rooms as you want, but can only use one casino offer at a time, per cruise, for each individual. Can you have a paid room and a free room? not sure, but probably. Club Royal can answer that. Long Answer: Paid for rooms is a different category than Casino "free" rooms. I can book two people in one free room for the same price as booking a person in two separate free rooms (I pay taxes and gratuity based only on the person assigned to a room). The problem is that I cannot use two offers in my name on the same cruise. So, I book one room in my name and another in my wife's name using our separate offers (we both usually get similar offers). We can then add an extra person in each room for the price of taxes and gratuity. Then we link the other couple's (my kids/friends) credit card to their Seapass Card and get an extra room access key so that the right partners are in the right room. I can also combine each of our offers to get an upgraded room many times (a balcony plus an interior room usually gets us a Jr. Suite). We get multiple rooms for the points and the potential to add people onto our cruises for a very reasonable price. Another benefit is that we can cancel at any time and get our tax and gratuity refunded in total. At present, we each have 4 offers, for cruises, between now and December that I cannot use due to time constraints. For the price of "churning" enough money to make Prime, it is a heck of a benefit. One cruise, we even get $750 of freeplay due to booking the cruise while on a cruise. My entire gambling losses, over the last year, would not amount to one of my Jr. Suites on one of my cruises. We also do not do the drink package (free casino drinks and 4 Diamond drinks + free Wifi for one device). We have our fellow travelers just pay for drinks a la carte. I would assume that the system has you as a key item in their database that links everything dealing with you back to you. It is not a matter of should you be able to as much as the computer system being able to track you and keep track of all of your items. You can book two rooms, but you can't check in to both of them. If you had a paid room and a casino room, you would have to check into one of them. Essentially on check-in you would check in to the paid room and be a no-show on the casino room. Second person checks into the casino room, everything's maybe ok? Depends on the terms and conditions of that room, they might try to claw back the money if the casino comped individual doesn't show up for the casino comped cruise (even though you kind of did). Problem again is that you can only check-in to one cabin. If grandma checks into suite to get fancy seapass, no one checks into the sleeping cabin and it is closed. If grandma checks into the sleeping cabin she doesn't get a fancy seapass. The only way this would work is to have another person to get around the empty room problem - that person would not get star benefits. You would have your star suite with grandma booked in it, other person book whatever other type of cabin they want, grandma gets a key for second cabin and sleeps there, but has a star class seapass for the benefits. Other option is to just pay for the packages, put her in a grand suite if she needs to eat at CK with you and have access to the lounge. There can be only be one of you actually sailing. Can you book multiple cabins? Sure. Can you board the ship and be in multiple cabins? No. I have at times booked multiple cabins on a refundable basis. A JS and a balcony for example while I contemplate which I want or try to entice family and friends to join me. As my mind clears I settle on one and eventually let go of the other. This can take months sometimes. Unlike some airlines that will automatically cancel one of your bookings, cruise lines let you make multiple bookings and might even let you make final payment on all of them. I'm not sure about that, I never get that far. On boarding day you can't be lead or be checked in on multiple cabins. So what happens to the cabin that is discarded on boarding day? That may depend. Any discounts like C&A, age, state of resident, fire/military/police, casino, etc. could be removed from a booking when you are removed from that cabin that contains another guest. Is this a sure thing? We all know that Royal can be inconsistent so has someone got away with it and a second guest was able to sail? Probably. But I'd be hesitant to use that as proof that is policy or what will always happen. My gut tells me this will likely end badly or not as you may desire. The second name on the paid booking would check in but she never would. She would just be a no-show for the paid booking. It's no different from me booking a cruise then "selling" it to someone else on the premise I won't show up. A stranger might not make that deal but between friends and family what's to stop someone it? "Hey sister... I can't sail next week so I'll sell you the cruise for half of what I paid. I won't show up so you get the cabin to yourself!". Or... if you are ballsy sell it on eBay or a cruise forum on the internet. "Trust me, I won't show up and you get a cruise for half the current rate." Or... "Your casio offer is about to expire and you can't cruise right now. How about you book it with me in the cabin and I'll sail without you?". Or.. "I'll book you a cabin using my CAS rate then I'll stay in my other cabin". I was trying to figure out how to use a casino comp for a cruise I already booked but doesn't have a comp on it, so my mother can go. I need the suite points to make D+, so I was going to get her, her own room. I thought I might as well use the comp. I don't want any trouble so I will probably just purchase her room outright.
