Back to back from Miami

Hi all

Have booked a couple of B2B cruises out of Miami (Grandeur Jan 23 & Oasis Jan 24, both keeping same cabins so no moving around!) - just wanted to know what the situation is in relation to getting off/getting back on or choosing to just stay on board?

We did B2B in Sydney before and was very easy to get off and get back on with sea passes already issued etc but wasn't sure on the rules/options at Miami?

Thanks.

Did a B2B in Miami in November.  You will get a notification where to meet (Star lounge in Our case). When all passengers are off you will be escorted into terminal,

through customs/immigration (Facial recognition used in Miami ) then back aboard ship before next cruise passengers start boarding.

You will have to disembark with group doing B2B. Once back aboard, since you have same room, you are allowed to go past closed passageway doors to

your SR. Very easy process. Would do again in a heartbeat. Enjoy your cruise!

US customs and immigration does require the ship reach a zero count before guests for the next cruise can commence boarding so that requires leaving the ship to go through the immigration process.  Very rarely will US CBP officials come on the ship to process B2B guests but that can occur.

In South Florida it's not unusual for there to be hundreds of B2B guests so the process might take a little longer compared to Sydney.  Take your passports and associated documents but you don't pack anything else when staying in the same cabin.  Depending on CBP that day and any straggling guests that take their own sweet time to debark you might have to wait in the terminal as a group with other consecutive cruisers.  That can be a brief wait in the terminal or that could be an hour depending on CBP that day.

If you desire to do something in Miami on turn around day you can leave the ship with other guests debarking that day, go through customs and immigration like they do then go explore Miami.  If you choose this option once you leave the ship you can't return until guests from the next sailing are allowed to embark.  You still go through security like new guests do to enter the terminal but you don't have to go through the check in process like new guests do.
