Boston cruise on Voyager of the Seas

Recommended Posts

If you will be in town a day or two earlier, any quality property north of South Station is a stones throw away from the port, Boston is very compact. I would suggest something closer to the common for a fun day of sight seeing by foot the day before if you have the time.  Don't miss the North End for some of the best food in town.

If you are looking for a classic historic hotel I recommend the Omni Parker House (home of Boston Cream Pie and Parker House Rolls)(also where JFK proposed to Jackie).  Classic panelled dining room, beautiful lobby, etc. Near everything. In my opinion it is the best in Boston. A bit pricey but worth it!

Never cruised from Boston, but I do recommend the Courtyad Downtown/North Station (link below).  If you’re staying in the North End (or anywhere :)) then I recommend the following 🙂 which are all on Salem street and close to the hotel I recommend.

Italian — Al Dente (http://www.aldenteboston.com)

Bakery — Bova’s (http://bovabakeryboston.net)

Sandwich — Pauli’s North End (https://paulisnorthend.com)

hotel - https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/bosne-courtyard-boston-downtown-north-station/overview/

my wife and I were just Portland Maine and ended up driving to Boston to eat dinner at Al Dente since it was only about 92 miles from Kennebunkport which we were doing a side trip for 🙂

Mrs Fan and I are looking for the same thing.  We are cruising Oct 23 on the Voyager of the Seas.  I have our flights worked out.  Got a house sitter for the pets.  I've not booked the cruise as of yet as I am trying to find a good TA. Can't get anyone to call me back.  Probably go back to Costco travel. Been looking at Hotels and boy are they expensive.  I was hoping for something in the $200-$300 range and so far, striking out.

Closest to port is Hampton Inn Seaport District. 1 minute walk across parking lot. There are other hotels in Seaport area as well.

I ended up getting a room at the Westin Seaport.  I realized that I had a bunch of Marriott points.  So, I got it for points and about $23 in tax.  Per Google Maps, it is an 11-minute walk to the port (1 Black Falcon Ave).  If it is raining or other bad weather, then we can Uber for probably a few bucks.

Also, finally booked the actual cruise.  Voyager OTS, October 23.  We stayed in Bar Harbor (actually Winter Harbor) last October in an Airbnb.  We are looking forward to the Canada ports of the trip.

If there is an excursion to Acadia - Sign up and go.
