On board laundry cost

Recommended Posts

On Vision, they had a paper bag, about the size of grocery store plastic bag but taller, $35 ($25 for Diamond) for as much as you could stuff in it. We were able to put 10 underwear, 6 bras, 6 tank tops, a couple of t-shirts and shorts into it with some room left over. Got it back in 2 days. They also do dress clothes but don't know the cost.

Impressive.  We've never been able to fit half of that in those bags.

I'm sailing on a 7 night western Caribbean Symphony cruise this June. Anyone have a good idea what it would cost for laundry service for three quests in one room? Thanks.

My suggestion is to wash underwear in the bathroom sink and drip dry, then save laundry use for one nice set of clothes (formal nights).  I find the ship relatively expensive.  We also do the steam and hang stuff to get wrinkles out of what we've packed.  Normally, for 7 nights or less you can pack all the clothes you really need. There are other threads with laundry hacks...

What we do is bring two strong magnet hocks a length of tent rope and some cloths pegs as the walls in the cabin are metallic. On our nightly walk before bed we pick up a couple of new pool towels and use these to act as blotting material after we wash our shorts and T shirts from the day in the shower, they come out very dry after you put them on the towels on the floor and lay one of the towels over the top and walk all over them for a couple of minutes. Then hang them up on your washing line under the aircon vent and by the morning you can put your dry cloths away and take your line down. The last thing you do is take your towels back to the towel attendants on the way to breakfast.
