Has anyone been denied boarding because their Vaccination card did not have a lot number listed?

Recommended Posts

We are booked for our first trip since having our last one cancelled due to COVID-19. My husband and I are fully vaccinated and boostered, however, I read somewhere that a lady was denied boarding because her vaccination record did not contain a lot number. I checked RCL website and it does not say that there has to be a lot number. I have submitted my card for verification on the app but it is still saying pending verification. Apparently this lady also did that and it was verified. The port agent denied her boarding. Does anyone know if they will refuse us boarding because our cards do not have that information? Truly worried at this point and hoping that it is the good old rumor mill.

@Sharronortiz Go back to where you got the vaccination and have them add the lot number to your card. It should also be recorded in your vaccination records, so you can ask your medical provider if they can give your a print out as well.

The CDC link has some suggestions of where to get your records as well.

Might as well have everything you can in your arsenal in case you get a port agent who scrutinizes the card closely.

All states (to my knowledge) have a vaccination database - any healthcare provider can access it (including a PA at CVS and your PCP) in addition to the county healthcare option (as a healthcare provider I receive my first dose the January they became available in a huge university parking lot held by the county health system in our state). The PA when I got a booster at CVS care clinic was able to pull mine up and give me an extra card and our PCP pulled our vaccine records when we began with her practice (and showed any vaccine we had received - TDAP, shingles, and all Covid vaccines and boosters).

Thanks for your replies, I was struggling to figure out how to respond to you individually…sorry, not very social media savvy - lol. Yes, I have looked into getting my vaccination records and it is doable, however, not user friendly here in Bexar County, TX. Apparently I can request a copy from the state but it will take 20 business days which I do not have. I will have to take the afternoon off work and go to the records dept. for the health care system that gave me the vaccinations. My case was similar to another response here in that it was a mass vaccination site and I am not part of their health care system otherwise I could of printed a copy online. It sounds like my fear is appropriate, I could be denied boarding without it so I will go and get it. It’s just a pain but at least I will have a copy moving forwards. No other entity has asked for a lot number up until this point, frustrating but fixable. Thanks for all the replies!!!

You getting a copy from the state will take a long time, but your Health care provider (or any of them) can pull it up in a matter of minutes. As I said when I got my last booster my card was in the car and he told me not to bother getting it and just pulled it up on his computer there at CVS and  gave me a new card. Good luck 😀
