Were you told that by Royal? According to MyVEGAS, while you have to use the points within 14 days of redeeming the reward, it can be used on a sailing that is within 30 days of booking. I have been told that repricing a cruise resets that clock.

I found that confusing too. If you take it literally, it’s suggest that you could only use it on a cruise booked 30 day or less out!?  Some specify both the 30 days and give the “use within 14 days” also!  I would like to use the 50,000 that I have accumulated for a $100 onboard credit for our May cruise, however ....

@monctonguy   I started it a couple months ago now - there are lots of tricks to getting free money, including signing on frequently and daily to get Higher multiples.  You also get higher points for having more friends playing (feel free to add me and then check my friend’s list for other adds; I’m under “Lynn Vegas” there ?).  Those friends who play can offer free points to you in various ways (through “gifts”, by playing and posting wins, by sharing rewards, etc). I rarely run out of money now, but I did at first before learning these methods. You will pretty quickly learn the tricks! The best thing is to get all four of the MyVegas apps (pop!, Konami. Blackjack and myvegas slots).  If you link them all to your Facebook account the points accumulate whether you play the apps them separately or simultaneously on different devices).  There are a few you can let run on auto for longer periods and that is what I try to do (pop! wants me to pay attention ? )

@ZiggyZaggers  I’m confused - that seems impossible unless you see buying a LOT of chips yourself (vs free ones) and you are playing 24/7 and even then I cannot imagine collecting half that many.  Is it possible that you’re looking at the amount of money that you have one instead of the amount of loyalty points earned?

So, am I understanding this right? You have to redeem it within 14 days of booking (or repricing) a cruise, and the cruise must sail within 30 days? Who books that close in?

It’s super obtuse wording, so I understand your confusion. When you redeem your points in the app, you get a redemption code to give to Royal. You have 14 days to use that code before it expires. This code can be used on a sailing that has been booked in the last 30 days. The cruise must sail within a year.

What would I do without you? I could not wrap my head around that! Thank you! Hmmmm, I still book too far out, but who knows, something many someday fit.

You’ve had the same question if have had recently. The person who worded that should be fired ? If I wrote research papers like that I would’ve been booted to the curb. From what I understand from my recent deep dive is that the “14 day” requirement is not about the actually sailing date but when you call RCL to have it applied to the cruise you booked within the last 30 days? That isn’t close to what it says! It still is a ridiculously narrow window, but at least they aren’t expecting me to book cruises mere weeks out! ? I have also learned that on cruises where there is a casino-related discount they cannot be used (and those discounts are too good to give up) - I guess I will check my other voucher options.

Ok, so if I booked a cruise today (which I did) for 2021, I could apply one of the vouchers? Or? I'm still confused (I swear I'm not as stupid as I seem on here, lol).

Hey, I feel your pain, it’s nuts and I know you are not even a little stupid!

It’s the 14 day issue that is throwing us... it says 14 days to use it when it means 14 days to apply it to a cruise (one you booked in the last 30 days). The sail date can (apparently, I cannot swear to this part) be during the next 1 year but you have to call and APPLY it to the reservation in the 14 days after getting it. I know, nuts! And not at all what is written. So if I am understanding correctly you would be fine if the sail date was in the next year ? Sorry ?

Ok, gotcha. No worries since it's money I didn't have to begin with and wasn't counting on!

and it has to be booked through casino royale it looks like. I wonder what kinda pricing they have on cruises compared to the travel sites I normally use(as Royals normal site is alwayssSO expensive)

May not work out to be any savings?! ?

It SAYS it has to be booked through casino royale, but for the time I used it, I forwarded the redemption code email to @michelle who had already booked my trip and she had them add it on to the itinerary without issue.

hmm...interesting....wouldn't want to take that chance without knowing for sure..guess I would have to ask the TA at the time of booking....good to know

We booked another cruise at NextCruise on Sunday 3/10/19. I left NextCruise and went into either MyVegas or MyKonami app on my phone and used 50,000 points to get a voucher for $100 OBC. I received the email immediately with the voucher code. I forwarded that email to clubroyale@rccl.com with my name and  reservation number. I got home the evening of Monday 3/11 and went into the cruise planner and my $100 OBC was there already. Easy-peasy....

You may want to check if you can transfer that reservation to a TA in Canada since it has to be booked through the Royal USA system.

Sounds good....but that was through Royal.....I wonder if its that easy with  TA that I normally use(who's not Royal)......as I wont be able to book with nextcruise on my cruise in Nov as we don't know exact dates for Feb 2020 when we want to cruise...

I only use TA's in the US so far...so not worried about that at this point...but thanks for thinking of that!

The only way it wouldn't be that easy from what I understand is if your TA does bookings by giving group rates. I can't remember where I read this, but I could have sworn someone mentioned that you can't apply the OBC to group bookings.

I forwarded email to my TA as well letting her know that I did send directly to Club Royale who handles the MyVegas vouchers. In your case, forward the email with the vouceher code to the TA and they can contact Club Royale. The key is that you need to use the voucher code within 14 days of receiving it and apply it to a cruise within 30 days of booking. You do not need to have the voucher before or at the time you book. Like I mentioned - I booked the cruise, then cashed the points for the voucher and then sent the email to Club Royale (not ROyal). In your case you send the voucher to the TA and they send it or call Club Royale. To be honest, there is no reason to have the TA do it - they don't gain anything nor do you from involving them IF you use it for OBC. If you are suing it for upgrades or something else then definitely consult with the TA before you book the cruise and let them know what you are thinking about. I've only used it for OBC so far....

Even though I mentioned earlier that I had my TA do it, I wholeheartedly agree with this having seen how easy it was. I genuinely felt silly asking her to do such a simple task once I realized that I would have been able to do it myself in literally 30 seconds. For future OBC uses I will definitely just handle this myself by forwarded the redemption code to Club Royale along with my reservation information.

Free cruises being offered but they jacked it up to 2 million points. The 2 for 1 offers (1 million points) are no deal.

It might be worth it if it wasn’t an interior on a inferior ship. I might part with two million of my points for a junior suite on symphony.

The crappy thing is the group price was the exact same price as the RCCL web price.  So this was a case where I lost money booking with a TA.  It happens, and going forward I wouldn't apply it to group cruises. I'm saving up for the 1,000,000 point Oasis class cruise they offer around Christmas for sailing in January anyway.

That's what I am hoping for....collected 104,000 chips in about 21 days...I was pretty happy with that...but haven't seen the $250 OBC since I signed up......guess I will just keep collecting although at this point...2million seems like a longs way off for a  "free" cruise.

They did have some offers added like cruises at special rates and discounts, but of course no prices listed...so what's the point of that??!

Interested to see as well as we want to book for 2020......and I wonder how it works....you have to book the cruise first..and then cash in the voucher for 10% off and then credit your credit card or just put that 10% towards your booking with Royal as a credit or?

Does the myVEGAS name/email need to match with cruising parties names/emails? I’ve got enough for $100 RCL OBC. My husband doesn’t play, but my sister does. I think I can convince her to throw us a voucher, but she’s not cruising.

The names will have to match those listed on the reservation.

Be sure to read all the terms.  You can only use 1, it has to be on a new booking, and it cannot be combined with a casino offer.
