TheMick424
New member here with a question regarding where one is able to book dining reservations on Oasis class ships. We have reservations for a Junior Suite on Symphony of the Seas (7 Day Eastern) which I understand also includes access to Coastal Kitchen for dinner, pending availability and requiring reservations. If we want to book some reservations for specialty dining restaurants and Coastal Kitchen during our cruise, where should we go once onboard? Can they book both types or would we need to make separate stops? TIA!

If we want to book some reservations for specialty dining restaurants and Coastal Kitchen during our cruise, where should we go once onboard? Can they book both types or would we need to make separate stops? TIA! Welcome aboard !!! There are basically 3 ways to enjoy specialty dining: 1. Purchase and reserve your individual meal/dining choice prior to boarding by booking through the Cruise Planner. You pay when you make the reservation. The Pros to doing this is you choose your time, date and venue before others so your choices are generally best. Cons: You pay top dollar for your meals. 2. Purchase a dining plan. There are usually 2 to choose from - the 3 night plan and the Unlimited Dining Plan. The 3 night plan is exactly that - you get to enjoy 3 meals (this generally means dinner but there have been instances where some have been permitted to use their 3 night plan for a lunch. It depends on the ship) at whichever specialty dining venue you choose (based on availability). You must pay when you reserve the plan. Pros: You receive a discount over paying for 3 separate meals. Cons: You cannot make reservations until you board. The Unlimited Dining Plan allows you to dine at a specialty dining venue any time it is open for business and it can accommodate you. So if you want to eat lunch and dinner at specialty, the UDP is for you. In general, specialty restaurants are not open for lunch on port days so it basically means lunches will be available only on sea days. Pros: Your meal $$ is further discounted. Cons: You cannot make reservations until after you board. 3. Reserve a specialty dining meal onboard. You can always try and book a specialty meal without any dining plan ore pre-reservations. IOW, be a walk-up. Pros: Spontaneity. Cons: $$ is high and availability is likely limited. There is also a 4th option most of the time. You can wait until you board and chances are pretty good that there will be roving crew selling "discounted" specialty dining meals and/or plans. The price is generally not as low as it would be by purchasing ahead of time through the Cruise Planner but it would be generally less $$ than purchasing the meals individually. AshleyDillo
For Coastal Kitchen you have to either call them or visit to make reservations if you are in a Jr. Suite. You can't do this until you are onboard the ship. TheMick424

Specialty dining - if you have a package, pick one to go to as soon as you are on board & you can make multiple reservations for any of the specialty restaurants at that one TheMick424 and PurpleDaisy 1
