dodgestang
So I've routinely received offers over the years for cruises I had booked, but not paid for yet, and sometimes found that when repricing with an offer from the casino I was able to save money. Flash forward to today...I have a cruise to Alaska in Aug....this is a cruise that has essentially been paid for....for 2 years. We were supposed to go in Aug 2020 and then again in Aug 2021....but as we all know....stuff happened...yadda yadda..... So today I get a mailer offer for a free balacony room on my sailing......has anyone had any luck repricing after being paid in full? I don't want to waste an hour on the phone if this is already a known non-starter.

Ampurp85
Doesn't casino offers have to be a new booking?

Not sure if it’s possible these days. Never had one paid in full though.
CGTLH
Only data point I can provide. I had gotten a $100 off certificate from play earlier this year. Asked my TA if it could be applied to a sailing that was being moved due to Royal's cancellation. Was told in order to apply it would have to be treated as a new booking, this would have resulted in loss of a credit that has been applied due to the booking being cancelled once already on Royal's part and loss of the double point promotion. Quote from TA: I spoke with Casino about applying your Casino offer. They are a funny department to deal with and things have changed about how they do things. They said if they apply the Jan Instant Rewards they will have to rebook the booking at prevailing rates. They said this would mean you would lose your $200 onboard credit for the redeployment AND you would lose your double points. Dicey
We've replaced an existing casino booking with another offer but not sure if it's different if your booking was paid for. But can't you just cancel your existing reservation and book a new one with the casino offer?
CruisingOz
Those offers are normally for new bookings but I have successfully applied some to cruises, but they only had deposits on them. This is messy, but you can cancel the sailing and rebook it. Yiu would need to do it with them at the same time so the cabin is not scooped up by someone else. If booked through a TA, TA would need to cancel it and you would need to book direct. Issues could be the TA, if FCC was used, time for money to be refunded, etc, etc. How about book a B2B and have an awesome Alaska holiday. I would love that, but I am in Australia, so I have to let all my offers go, so sad
Traveler
I did it twice lately. Booked a cruise using certificate from one of the pervious cruise then got a free offer that also covers this cruise for a balcony stateroom , called them and they switched it without any issues and gave me the money back on the original booking . A week ago again got an offer but this time for a JS that cover the same sale date and many others options. Since could not used the offer for other dates (we still need to work between cruises ) I called again and they switched it , no questions asked. The only thing is they let you know the original offer you used is expired and can not be reused. Another possible side effect might be less new offers , but that's might be just in my mind.
