Just wondering if anybody has used any of the waterproof case for their phones. If so how did you find using the camera while it was in the case. We’re the pictures ok?

I've used several for cruises, beaches and paddle boarding. Pay a little to get a good quality one. I've fell in the water and my phone was fine. The better quality ones have clearer plastic. I don't remember the brand name of my favorite one but it's about $20-25. I've gotten a lot of use out of it.

Just make sure that you don't already have any condensation or air in the case.  If the phone is snuggly in the waterproof case, the pictures will be great.  Any air that causes the phone to have room in the case may create just enough space for glare or slight reflection. I use the Joto one pictured above at least once a week in the ocean.

FYI- My kids have tossed my iPhone in the pool and it sat at the bottom for about 15 minutes and I am currently posting this response on said iPhone 13. I also keep it in my pocket when we are at the beach. No issues….. I believe alien technology has moved us beyond waterproof cases.

That's dangerous territory you are treading.  I too have used the iPhone's water resistant feature for depths up to 5 meters and time up to about 15 minutes.  But I would not ever recommend this.  The seal between the glass and the sides can have microfractures that you cannot see and water can definitely penetrate.

I’ve certainly put it to the test and so far, no issues other then the sand scratches on the screen. Now underwater photography may be something that I will have to test next and report back.

Side note I recommend one that has a little flotation device as part of it... otherwise if you drop it overboard on a snorkel adventure you're chasing it to the bottom of where ever you are!

I tested mine by putting some tissue paper in for the first use and the paper stayed bone dry!!

That's exactly what I did with my case before I brought it on the ship! 1000% recommend doing this with any case before going in or near water.

I have used Lifeproof cases for years on my iPhones. You can sometimes get good deals on Amazon for them for 30-40 dollars. I use it every weekend in the summer in the pool and on any vacations we go on. I feel they are very worth the money!

I'm still far too paranoid to let me phone get wet at all. I totally believe you, but I'm so conditioned to avoid it getting wet

I’m looking for a new phone case, but I want it to be colorful and vibrant while also offering solid protection. It’s important that it looks great but also keeps my phone safe from drops and scratches.

Fast forward to iPhone 15 pro max in 2024. I have actually used this phone I am currently typing with as a paddle to swim in St Maartin. I took this picture (no case). Alien technology perfected.

I'd recommend checking out cases made from durable materials like TPU or polycarbonate. These materials provide excellent shock absorption and scratch resistance, while still allowing for vibrant, colorful designs. Some cases even combine hard backs with softer sides for extra grip and impact protection, so your phone will be safe from drops without sacrificing looks.

One great resource to find something that fits both your style and protection needs is Inaras Cases. They offer a variety of bright, artistic phone cases that are not only visually stunning but also designed to keep your phone well-protected. You can check out https://inarascases.com/
