Lovetocruise2002
So, it has been a whirlwind of a day so far. But again, this whole experience is more proof of why you should never fly in on boarding day. Can you imagine if today was yesterday. We would have been toast for sure, even with an all star TA. Our #majorstarclasstakeover group had decided we would all get together at Playmakers for lunch today. I finally got to meet @Neesa and @ShakeDownCruise. Happy reunion with @bellemiche, @tiny260, and a few others. Such a nice time to sit and laugh and thank God that we made it! We were wiped out so the 4 of us just ordered a bunch of appetizers to share: And @Ray, first drink was a margarita! but I needed it so bad we forgot to take a pic lol twangster, CannukCruiser, bellemiche and 10 others 9
Lovetocruise2002
Room tour! 1718. I like this suite better than HM and SY because both bathrooms have the larger wall in shower. Definite plus. However, my one complaint is that they really should have re-done with room when the amped OA. The decor and furnishings feel a bit dated compared to her new sisters. All in all, this is still one of my favourite places to be. Main living area: bellemiche, ellcee, Dogmom and 8 others 8

Lovetocruise2002
Luggage update: it ended up in Orlando now it has to find its own way back to Detroit before we get back next Sunday. As for us, it will be a super casual cruise for us this time. Just beyond grateful that we are here. Off to CK soon for my filet. Then we have Aqua80 scheduled. It’s pretty windy right now, the ship is swaying a lot. Hopefully it does not get cancelled. Hubby is a major 80s fan so he has been looking forward to this for a while. calvink669, Jax, CravingaCruise and 2 others 1 1
GlassSlipper
So happy that you made it on-board! Have a great time! I know you didn’t do a whole pre-cruise part of this blog, but would you mind writing a little about your pre-cruise communication and planning with your Genie? WAAAYTOOO
Sabrina, had you asked the Genie NOT to have any drinks waiting in your suite ? SMOKEY0202
no luggage what is a "suite snob" to do for the entire week of cruise to be the fashionista..........did you at least have stuff in your carry on to somewhat survive or was it a mad dash to the nearest mall before the cruise terminal. a few cucumber cocktails would be needed for sure with entire bottle of wine and some aspirin for such eventful roller coaster to get on the ship.....worse than dealing with the testing aspect
MamaShark
Oh my gosh Sabrina, this sounds like both of our craziest cruise nightmares, missing/cancelled flights plus lost luggage. I hope you’re one of those lucky passengers that I’ve seen get a surprise luggage delivery at a port. Especially for your teenage girls:-(. Happy you didn’t miss the cruise! Anyway, I’m surprised also to see that Oasis didn’t at least get a fabric change/update during the amp. It’s been awhile since I sailed the Oasis or Allure. I didn’t care much about the slides, added restaurants or pano suites. Is there a visual facelift on the Oasis in comparison to the un-amped Allure? Newer colors, floors or carpet? Hope Filet night and cocktails were good for you tonight! CK never disappoints! Lovetocruise2002

He reached out to us about one month prior to sailing. Because this is not our first star, we did not have ton of questions for him. He was able to give us a dinner schedule but entertainment is not confirmed until the day prior so it is almost pointless (for us anyway) to solidify a dinner when you don’t know what time your shows are. Anyway, Allan did give us a working schedule for dinner but after we got the entertainment schedule yesterday, we have moved around our dinners. There was no trouble doing that. Lovetocruise2002
Well, dinner was fantastic as usual. The filet did not disappoint! Halfway through dinner, Allan came by to tell us that Aqua80 was cancelled due to high winds. We sort of saw it coming anyway because the ship has been rocking ever since it departed. We sort of welcomed the cancellation because as we ate in CK, tiredness really started to settle in. bellemiche
We arrived to the port and after being dropped off at the Star Class check in, it was wonderful to see @Lovetocruise2002and her family! ❤ We checked in and then our genie Derick came to meet us and bring us to our home for the week - an ATS on deck 9. Derick had some birthday signs and a cake waiting for my mom who turns 80 years young in June. This cruise is the beginning of her birthday festivities. At 12:30 we went to Playmakers to meet up with others in the #MajorStarClassTakeOver. I had the poke nachos and the goal post margarita (minus the jalapeño). Both were delicious. After lunch, we took my friend on a tour of the ship since she's an Oasis rookie. Dinner for us was also at Coastal Kitchen. All three of us had the filet and thoroughly enjoyed it. For dessert, two of us had the poached pear with ice cream and the other had the royale chocolate cake. We ended the night watching the headliner Jesse Hamilton. He played Simba in Lion King and has a fantastic voice. Tomorrow we're doing a private tour in Nassau with Clamtram. sammy79, Rags1, Lovetocruise2002 and 10 others 12

Neesa
Reporting in from 1720. Dreary and cold outside, decided to stay on the ship. This room is lovely and the food does not stop. It's day 2 and I'm like. Please ? No more! Derick is amazing, he is on top of everything yet not to intrusive. I love his style and pace. Last night was the first time in 13 sailings I had to put on my patch the ship as big as it is made me very uncomfortable. I have never felt motion like this, I'm really happy I changed from 14528 because it could have been so much worse. I had hair services yesterday but when I showed up for my appointment they said there was a mistake and they double booked, I booked and paid in full before sailing. Still waiting for my money back. While I was annoyed for one second I thought I'm taking a page from @Lovetocruise2002 and just let it go. With everything she endured to get here and still has the most positive attitude I was not going to complain not one bit! All hail her Majesty Queen of the North! Best attitude ever!! bellemiche
Well the dreary weather in Nassau didn't stop us from our private jeep tour with Clamtram. Genie Derick met us at 8:45 am and escorted us to the gangway. We then fought the chilly wind and made our way to our meeting point - The Bearded Clam Sports Bar. I've taken this trip before and really enjoyed it. The tour guide, Christine, is very informative and knowledgeable about the history of Nassau. At 9:30 am, Christine picked us up and we were off! Unfortunately we had to keep the jeep top up. We had the opportunity to tour the island, seeing and stopping at different places of interest, including two beaches (that are more familiar to the locals). The one spot we went to was off one of the main roads, and this is where we had our lunch of BBQ chicken, mac & cheese, beans and rice, plantain and Bahama Mama's. After lunch we made our way back to the port and arrived back by 1:30 pm. Despite it being colder and windier than we would have liked, we still had a great day!
