Mask Requirement

If someone is cruising at the moment can answer a couple of questions  Do you need to wear your mask from the time you leave your room until you get back?  Do you have to wear it while sitting by the pool outdoors?  Do you have to wear while you are off the ship in port?  What about while dining, only while eating or the whole time you are sitting?  Thanks we leave next week.

Ok, since nobody has answered yet, I'll pass on what has been reported and it'll bump the thread up.  You can go to the home page and read Matt's live blogs on his Navigator sailing for some fun and to get an idea of what it's like.

You do have to wear your mask indoors.  If  you are seated and have food/drink in front of you people have reported that you do not have to have your mask on (in other words, you don't have to put it back on between "bites and sips" - a phrase that I hope to never have to type again ever).  You would not have to wear it at the pool outdoors.

As for off the ship in port, that completely depends on the port.  I believe they are required indoors and outdoors in Cozumel and possibly Costa Maya.  You could check the "Live Blog" section of these message boards and read how things are being handled on some ships right now.

Just got off the Navigator.  Mask was indoors the whole time, not outdoors.  When we were in line to be served food at Johnny Rockets or El Loco Fresh they asked us to put it on.  No mask required at the pool.

Once we got off the ship in Mazatlan/Cabo/Puerto Vallarta we took masks off.  Nobody ever asked us to put the on except for obvious indoor settings, i.e. in a store/shop.

MDR or Windjammer you wear it like before.  Sitting at the table the mask is off.  Walking around to buffet mask is on.

Currently based on Oasis of the seas which I am sailing:

masks indoors on ship. You can remove while dining and drinking at restaurants and bars. You DO NOT need to wear a mask outdoors on pool deck and other areas. Outdoor in ports (no mask) inside vehicle on way to an excursion you must be masked.

Thoughts: No big deal at all.

Also- important to note that the majority of people are adherent to the rules. Some folks even prefer to go above & beyond and wear masks outdoors regardless of whether this provides additional protection or not. No judgement anywhere on the ship regarding protocol. It’s a positive experience and RC is doing what they need to do to stay safely afloat.

What about drinking while playing games in the casino? Masks?

I played the machines all night w/ a beer in hand and a lowered mask. In between beers walking around casino I had my mask on. Not really sure about the tables but I’m assuming the same. At the end of the day, there are no police and this is not like a prison it’s vacation and the staff knows that.
