Here’s the same news from USA Today.  It doesn’t say they differentiate whether you arrive by air or sea ……. Sounds like it applies across the board to everyone …..

Ouch, hope we hear something soon as we get on board on 17 Jan and do not get off till 5 Feb. We will have been on the ship for 15 nights (barring onboard virus issues)  before stopping at Coco Cay and  Nassau.

It's kind of unclear whether cruise passengers are affected by this rule or not. From the US Embassy website:

https://bs.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/

  • Effective January 7, 2022, using a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test will no longer be accepted and children ages 2 through 11 will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas.  Children  under the age of 2 are exempt from any testing requirements.
  • Cruise Passengers: All travelers entering The Bahamas on a cruise ship are subject to the testing requirements mandated by the cruise line and approved by The Bahamian government.

That second bullet point kinda suggests an exemption based on the cruise line's existing testing policy?

I think the second line basically says nothing is changing for cruise passengers.

USA Today has it's own agenda and they have quite a few people with a known bias against the cruise industry.  dv70 posted a link to the US embassy website which clearly states passengers arriving on cruise ships are subjected to the testing requirements of the cruise line that have been approved by the Bahamian Government.  USA Today could have easily made it clear nothing thus far has changed for cruise ships but decided not to so.
