Allure Xmas 2021 cruise report

Currently on Allure.

Masking everywhere and at all time indoors.  Not awful, yes that KN95 does get warm and a little uncomfortable during shows, but it is tolerable.  Notice a lot even masking while walking through Central Park, on pool deck and solarium until they get into a seat.  Yes few blatantly tried g to get around policy, just not many.

No they are not asking to to mask up between sips or bites, generally when seated with drink or food mask off.

Surprised by the number of vaccinated children 5-11 years old.  Really surprised.

Passenger counts.  3250 total. 2000+crew.  147 D+ 19 Pins.

Original passenger count was supposed to be 4500 almost 1000 cancellations last minute, info from Loyalty Ambassador but I could also have numbers off by a little but generally what I thought it should be.  Except I'm surprised at the high number of cancellations.

Yes hot tubs not in Solarium are all kids, but that was my expectation.

Windjammer open for dinner, during busy breakfast lunch some lines,b ut it looks like they move quickly.

Can't speak to MDR as not eating there

So far still glad we decided to stay on this cruise

Btw. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Thank you for posting.  We are scheduled on the Allure on Jan 8th.  I too am surprised by the number of cancellations.

How does it feel being at 60% capacity?

Any word on whether your scheduled ports are open to disembark?

Are show times still around 8pm and 10pm?

Look forward to your postings during your cruise.  Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

Update on Allure.

Captain just announced we will not port in St Thomas today. Due to local authorities concern over Omicron.

He said he is looking for alternatives

We are still happy to be here, on board.  No on board activities have been cancelled.

Wow! Very disappointing. We are on next week and St. Thomas was our prime port of this itinerary. Any news on the other porta you are scheduled to visit?

If you have a moment, could you post the onboard show times?

Captain just announced we will also be missing St Kitts our final port tomorrow.

We will though make an unscheduled stop on what was to be our final sea day at Perfect Day.

Was a hint of some minor compensation but nothing specific other than for sure port taxes for missed ports.

They are also planning some additional activities just nothing specific yet.

Casino is open as are most shops.  Pool decks are very full, nice sunny day.  A few loungers mostly in shaded areas. Diamond lounge as well as card room library about half full.  Because it is Sunday anywhere showing football games are over run right now.

That's most of my observations.

I'm still enjoying myself, crew are fantastic.

We were supposed to be on this cruise, but canceled back in Sept because we weren't sure about Canada/US travel and when the 5-11 group would start getting vaccines in Canada.

Then to top things off we found out on Wednesday that my daughter was a close contact of a positive case, meaning that she was housebound until this morning. So technically speaking, I would've had to cancel regardless.

(everyone ended up with negative PCR tests)

At the end of the day, I wish I could be there, but I'm glad to hear you're enjoying things though!

Day 6 evening Allure headed to Port Everglades to drop off 2 non-covid related emergencies.

Captain updated ub on 23 posative passengers on board and 3% of crew have tested posative.  I believe this is the correct numbers I heard.

No shows or activities shut down, going back to coco cay after drop off for final day

Feel bad for crew...its spreading amongst them like crazy.

Yes it is as they live in very close quarters  on the lower decks.  Spoke with one of the upper level managers (3 stripes on coat sleeve) checking on his bartenders in lounge. Told him we were glad captain shared and our wish for a safe and speedy recovery for the positive crew members.  He said not a concern as all cases were mild or even asymptomatic. He said most only detected because they test all crew at least every week and some more often.

Still I wish the affected crew members a speedy recovery.

Not sure if this is place to ask but, We are scheduled to be on allure Jan 22-30, haven't rescheduled excursions yet since first ones we signed up for were cancelled (Dominican Republic changed to Nassau) with all these changes should we wait or just signup & know changes are possible?
