starbrat
So confession time. Your last cruise blog is the first live cruise blog I read on this board. Your blog introduced me to Star Class and is ultimately the reason I booked our Star class coming up. I was sooo amazed at all the perks and decided our first cruise had to be a SC one. Your style of writing is informative and entertains. Welcome to Florida! Super excited for you!!! Cruise day is literally hours away. Can’t wait to see deck 17 and the suite! I’m living through everyone’s blogs while waiting for our April cruise to be here. 1st time Royal , Deck 17, and Star. Is it Sunday yet? iluvwineandtravel, Jax, CravingaCruise and 2 others 1

Lovetocruise2002
Leave it to Royal to ruin all the fun. They send out text reminders now to stick to boarding times. For the best I suppose. It’s pouring rain here right now. Having my tea and waiting for it to pass before we get moving. That and Hubby just woke up. He obviously does not understand the urgency of cruise day. Lol. I think he also has plans to heat up his La Bamba leftovers from last night….. Lovetocruise2002
Getting ready and I am reminded of the small things that make this sailing special. Way back in December 2019 (before we plunged into chaos), my sisters asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told them other than cruising, all I really wanted at the time was a cute little leather jewellery case by a Canadian company called Mejuri. It caught my eye because I thought it would be perfect for taking on cruises. Little did I know at the time that it would be two years later before I could actually use it. It’s personalized too! Only 3 letters are free. My sisters asked if I wanted my initials and I said to surprise me. This is what I ended up with. I am full of it half the time but after a good laugh, it actually stands for “Big Sister”. melmar02, ScottishRobbie, RWDW1204 and 10 others 4 6
Lovetocruise2002
Since I am still waiting for Hubby to finish getting ready, a little backstory for this sailing…. Originally, two years ago, we were actually booked for Jewel of the Seas sailing 12/18/2021. A few months later, I caught a fantastic deal on Crown Loft for two people on Allure sailing just a day later. I moved it right away, #teamOAclass always. A few months ago, knowing this was likely going to be our first cruise back since the pandemic, I started thinking we really should splurge given what we were celebrating, an excess of FCC, and having the possible benefits of star while sailing in a pandemic. The only problem was that there was no star availability by the time I wanted it. So the stalking the website began. About two months out from sailing, an A2 popped up for a pretty decent price. Being #teamDeck17, I wrestled with star or leaving Deck 17 and Deck 17 won. I let the A2 go. Then, about a month ago, a star suite on Deck 17 popped up for not much more than what the A2 would have cost. It took me a whole 5 seconds to tell my TA to upgrade us. I will explain why later, it was a no brainer. @Jax and I tried to keep it from both our spouses. Only she was successful. About a week ago over dinner, Hubby flat out asked me, “Are we sailing star on this one?” You don’t spend 25 years together by lying so I had to say yes. This was followed by a lot of whining and complaining by the girls that they weren’t coming. Hubby said, “Good, that includes laundry.” I have long said that sailing star with just Hubby and I might not really necessary. We will see if I change my mind about that lol. The kids and Hubby now roll their eyes at me. Hubby said he gives up, he will just assume from this point onwards, he will just assume that every sailing is star unless told otherwise. Lovetocruise2002
Lyft to Terminal 18 - 10 mins at best; we arrived around 11:05am. When we got to terminal 18, it was chaotic. We have been here many times and this time was not that great. Good thing we already knew what to do and where to go. For first timer (especially in star) it was hard to find. There was no star class banner outside. When we approached the star class counter with all our luggage (3 porters had already tried to take it at this point), they seemed confused when we said we were Star. Finally, they found one person who seemed to know what was going on and when I saw they had a clipboard with a list, I was relieved. After that it was smooth. Quick health and passport check, went through security, and they escorted us to a separate counter to check in. The whole process took about 20 mins and we were in the suites boarding area just before 11:30 am. Smitha had messaged us just prior to leaving the hotel to give us her Whatsapp number. Once we got to suites waiting area, I texted her and she met us and informed us that boarding was a bit delayed. In the end, we ended up boarding by 11:45am and she escorted onboard with 3 other families. She left us at the Champange Bar to take a family to the Aqua Theatre suite. So you what that means? The Star class check in counter is right in front of the suites door. Do not give your luggage to a regular porter. Hang on to it until they find you a star class porter. The star class banner was missing today. I guess it has been replaced by the counter. sammy79, WAAAYTOOO and CravingaCruise 2
