Jess4214
Regarding the new policy of downlining, does this apply when you disembark on the last day with the group numbers? Can we still request a early time/group number to disembark the ship? Thanks!
melmar02
No, it doesn't have anything to do with the actual debarkation process. It has to do with getting off the ship a port stop early (or latr). For example, let's say you book a cruise from Miami that goes to CocoCay, St. Thomas, and San Juan then returns to Miami (obviously making this up here). Downlining would be arranging with Royal ahead of time to disembark in San Juan because you wanted a land vacation there instead of completing the cruise back to Miami as scheduled. smokeybandit
Or more simply, getting on the ship for the first time AFTER the scheduled embarkation day, or getting off the ship for the last time BEFORE the scheduled disembarkation day. AlmondFarmer
People will continue to debark early despite this new policy, especially at ports with lots of bars. Weirdly their luggage will still be on the ship. Pooch, teddy, GKMCruising and 1 other 1
