Vitality Spa - Thermal Pass 

This morning was our first chance to try out the relaxation area. Their hours are from 8am-8pm and we find it’s best to go first thing in the morning.   It received a failing grade today but I trust the experience will improve.  Shane is looking into this. 
They lady greeting us knew it was our first time and said we would receive a tour of the relaxation area. We were taken downstairs and directed to the change rooms.  Things deteriorated from there.  I didn’t know where the relaxation rooms were so a staff member showed me. I made a remark that I forgot to remove my mask and made an effort to return to the changing area and was told no, masks were required.  Once in the relaxation area, there was no water and no one there to explain the various thermal areas.  I found someone and asked for water.  Once done in the relaxation area I made my way back to the change room and decided to shower there.  Once my shower was underway I found out the shampoo and conditioner containers were empty. I mentioned this to an attendant and was told to complain upstairs on my way out.  There are no disposable amenities of any kind and we were not prepared.  So I made my way back to our suite with wet, tangled hair to finish my shower. To top it off Lindsay tells me they gave him my sea pass card and if not for him leaving it I would have been locked out of our suite. 
Will try this again tomorrow and report back.

A few other star class families joined us in the escape room this morning including @calvink669and his wife Kelli.  So nice to meet in person! Not going to lie, it was harder than we thought but thankfully we had 4 teens to help us!  It was a lot of fun. Time remaining: 14:59.

nice to see open.  Our genie told us it is not operating on Harmony.  Gives me hope!

Kinda of a funny story. 3 times today I turned away for a second and Lindsay and a Reyd vanished.  Poof and they were gone.  I asked Shane if he has been sharing his genie powers with them.  We had a good laugh.  I swear I need to out one of my apple air tag trackers on each of them. Lol

Casino smoking protocols change 

I forgot to mention that yesterday a new non smoking protocol came into effect. Shane said it was done in an effort to better align with the new masking protocols in vaccinated areas. Our friends who are smokers have heard quite a few complaints from smokers.

Chops ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have been looking forward to Chops all week.  It is definitely one of my favorites.  Shane chose a perfect table in the corner. 
We sampled way too much food. My favorite is the rib eye, lobster with sides of baked potato and Mac n cheese.  Everything loved their meals.  The warm chocolate cake was so good. As usual Shane popped by again towards the end of our meal to check in. He is a natural at going above and beyond.

We came back to our room to change before Cats and were met with more surprises. 

Shane arranged for a Christmas tree 🎄 but the big surprise was a birthday cake for Reyd, a gift (model ship), personalized card and birthday decorations. 🥰 Shane is a truly genuine and kind person and this meant so much to all of us. We all hugged him when we met him in the Royal Theatre.

Cats 

We were going to skip this show but Shane encouraged us to go and said leaving partway through was totally acceptable.  Shane sat us in the same front row seats as last night. It was actually the 3rd row because the first 2 are blocked off for distancing from performers.  I haven’t rated it because we all bailed at various points.  But here are some thoughts. 
Lindsay called it cat litter.  
I am still trying to figure out what an Angelica cat is??
Reyd was totally confused and was the first to bail. 
Robert felt bad that we all left and is still there Lol 

Something interesting: prior to the start of the show the announcer said that guests on deck 4 of the theatre (vaccinated) could remove their masks. Those on deck 5 (unvaccinated) were to distance and keep masks on.

Laundry

This is one of my favorite star class perks. The day we arrived we had 2 bags of laundry and one bag every day since. They are using our laundry pods provided and washing our clothes separate so no laundry tags for us to find.  Lol  On Anthem we had white paper laundry bags. These are so much better.

Random observation on outlets in master bedroom. Outlets in master bedroom are scarce. There is only one outlet on each bed side table and the table lamps are using them.  2 euro plugs on each side. So we have unplugged the lamps so we can plug in our device chargers. I should have brought euro adapters. Our attendant Cami brought her personal one for us but we need the new smaller USB C ones.

Update on smoking policy. 

Day 1 Cruise Compass stated smoking permitted on decks 15 & 16 port side and in Casino Royals only while actively playing in designated areas.  

Day 4 Cruise Compass states “smoking indoors is strictly prohibited” and allowed on Decks 15 & 16 Portside.

This made me snort my coffee while laughing out loud.  I can't figure out if you are being snarky and the production audio was truly that bad?  Or if you actually somehow have escaped familiarity with this musical and the T. S. Eliot poems. I am fascinated by this concept and would love to buy you drinks and explore this further.  Do you know all Christine asked of Raoul?  Do you know who Jean Val Jean is? 🤔

It looks like they did a pretty true-to-Broadway production and you at least made it through Jenny Any Dots.  Cats definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea lol.

I've seen mixed things about the Thermal Passes and Star Class. Do you have to buy them ahead of time on the Cruise Planner? Are they included as part of Star Class? Does it depend on the ship class?

Day 4 Good morning as we near St Thomas.  Expected arrival 11ish. It’s another very windy day but not much movement onboard. We have no plans to get off the ship today but you never know. Hope to spend some time in our plunge pool (hot tub) this afternoon.  And maybe report back on mini golf.  According to Reyd our view at the moment is Puerto Rico.

haha—I totally know what you mean!  I woke up at 6am today to get my son's test out of the way (we sail on 12/24) -- he went to see the new Spider Man film with his friends (and apparently the rest of the known universe) on Saturday...

Vitality Spa - ❎❎

I am sorry to report todays experience also received a failing grade. Lindsay arrived slightly ahead of me and wasn’t given a robe so he hung his shirt on the hooks outside the door.  When I arrived he was in the dry sauna because both the steam showers were not working. It sounds like they weren’t turned on. Back to my arrival. I was offered a robe and given a key to a locker. The key would not lock the locker. Second key would not work. Third time lucky!  This is a common problem with these lockers. Same thing happened yesterday.  I have no idea why they put the broken lockers back in service for the next guests.  No water again so I asked and it was brought to me. I understand Covid protocols but why not solve this problem by making bottled water available instead of making us ask. We alerted the attendant to the steam showers problem and within minutes it was operational.  We both returned to our suite to shower.

Yes you purchase them through cruise planner. Not part of star class. Not ship dependent but I have heard that star class guests receive one complimentary guest pass (that may or may not be ship dependent) Our past experiences have been very good.

I am so jealous. The escape room was our one request and it wasn't open on Harmony 2 weeks ago.

Welcome to a gorgeous day in St. Thomas; 28 degrees and sunny. We docked in an area we have never docked before. Possibly due to the size of the ship??? Or maybe it was due to the cruise line.  I have no idea lol. The other ships visiting today can be seen off in the distance.  We are here until 8pm.  These beautiful views are courtesy of our stateroom deck

Update on Vitality Spa 

Cali the spa manager called. She is extending complimentary access to the thermal suite for the remainder of the cruise and processing a full refund.  Next time we visit the thermal suites we are to ask for her or her assistant manager so they can ensure protocols are followed. I always appreciate it when effort is made to make it right so we are hopeful our next experience will be better.

Lunch at Portside looked a lot like our first except for this beautiful view. We sat outside at the raised bar overlooking the bay. We now expect Shane to pop up a couple times during our meals.  He is all about delivering an exceptional experience to his guests and he really does.

That is wonderful news.  That is exactly what should happen.  I hope things get better.

I haven’t reported much on our breakfasts. Mostly because we are trying to pace ourselves when it comes to food, so breakfasts are light  Lol Reyd and I went to CK the last 2 mornings; service was very fast and food was excellent. We were in and out within 30 minutes.  Lindsay isn’t as convinced about CK and this morning grabbed something at the peoplejammer. His words “it was a zoo”, long lines”.

Shane is all about experiences so he tried to steer Lindsay & Robert away from WJ. He will be mortified when we tell him. Lol

When the hubby tried to eat at WJ while we were in CK, the CK manager went to hunt him down in WJ and brought him back telling him he would ensure he had anything he wanted brought to CK!  😂😂😂 That began the ordering "off menu" portion of our cruise.

Giovanni’s ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another 5 ⭐️ Review. This was our first visit to Giovanni’s and it was a great dining experience.   Sampled several items off the menu. Excellent service. Shane takes such great care of getting us settled at our table.  
Gnocci was a table favorite and tonight’s special was Alfredo sauce. I swear Shane made this happen as I mentioned how much I hoped Alfredo sauce was on the menu.
