Coastal Kitchen Filet Night

Filet night did not disappoint! My preferred steak is a ribeye but the filet was outstanding. Such a great meal!
I received a last minute message from Shane that the request to have Robert & Tammy join us was not granted due to expected capacity. When we arrived without them CK was surprised and had to remove their table settings. Shane felt bad but we assured him It was all fine and we totally understand.
For those curious there were no masks required throughout the entire meal.

Good call @Lovetocruise2002

Kind of a funny story. I assumed the windows in the master bedroom were reflective and you could only see out, not in. So imagine my surprise when  our suite attendant Cami, showed me the privacy shade button at 9pm tonight that provides privacy for when you are in the bathroom. My response was: you mean these windows aren’t one way?  We had a good laugh about it.  🤣

Oh my, can you imagine?  I knew you could see through the windows, that is probably the one thing I don’t like with the suite. But small price to pay for a gorgeous room.

We love Cami and have requested to have her on a few cruises.

Me too.  She is the best room/suite attendant we have ever had.  I was so happy when I heard that she was back on Oasis.

We were on Harmony last week. Marijana was our suite attendant and we said that she reminded us so much of Cami. They actually worked together on Oasis, are best friends and talk everyday.

I swear Shane has a tracker on us and our friends. Lol

He just magically appears. Robert & Tammy joined us a bit later this morning and were in the line for the public tram and Shane shows up and puts them on a private tram and escorts them to the Beach Club. Last night Shane found them and set them up for dinner after the CK dining change.  Poof and he just appears.
I forgot to bring cash to tip the attendants but Shane said we can take care of it once onboard as long as I have their names.  #teamShane

@Jax Do you feel the tightening of restrictions are impairing your experience? I don't think wearing a mask all times inside except eating and drinking would bother me. Just curious on your input? I will also extend this question to @Lovetocruise2002 Enjoy your vacations!!!

Nope, not at all. It’s still early in the cruise and we have not yet done indoor entertainment but it sounds like as long as we have beverage service we are fine. IMO Royal has done a good job of not making masks guests focus once onboard. We are not fond of masks and we have not even given them a second thought. In fact I asked Shane if plastic face masks were permitted and they are. This was great news as I prefer this style of mask.

Seconded, we were in a couple indoor places last night and this wasn't an issue at all.  Once seated we took off masks and enjoyed our drinks.  Even moved around inside the pub and there were no mask police.

Returning to the ship was not quite as smooth as leaving. We caught the main tram back to the pier and were met with huge lines at both mid ship and forward.  We made our way to forward as it seemed a bit shorter.  We noticed a third entry point in between mid and front and hoped it was a priority return for us. There was another star class family inquiring at the same time.  After checking we were told No star class guests, only families with strollers. Thankfully Lindsay and Reyd stayed in the original line. The other star class family was not so lucky so they joined us and boarded much quicker than they otherwise would have.  For some reason I thought there was a priority return point for star class guests?????  But maybe it was wishful thinking. Not a big deal but I will know this for next time and allow more time or leave earlier to avoid the lines.
FYI while we were in the line, Shane spoke to security and they were working to scan quicker and open more lines.

Yes, same for us, I think we were on the same team just different cars.   Not a huge deal as it moved pretty fast, but I was surprised as well.

Not sure if I mentioned that there were a couple of last minute dining changes the day before we sailed.  Hibachi was booked for a wedding buyout and 8 pm was the only available seating.  We happily took it, but today Shane offered us a last minute cancellation at 5:30 so we are off to our first Hibachi experience.  Really looking forward to it.  #teamShane

At the end of the cruise, ask him his secret for keeping track of his Star guests.
I enjoyed his explanation.

I will definitely do this! In fact just this morning I asked Shane if he had listening devices in the suites because I forgot my beach bag and within minutes Shane is here with 2 of them!! We had a good laugh.

Hibachi ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is such a great experience! Between our chef Crispino and our friend Robert there were so many laughs. We did Hibachi with a bit of Izumi.
We all ordered Steak/chicken combo with a side of Udo noodles and added the following from Izumi; dumplings and spicy rolls. It was all so good.  We are going back later in the week for lunch. Hibachi isn’t normally offered at lunch but will be over the holiday cruises.

Updated: I forgot to mention Robert has a shellfish allergy   Hibachi cooked the non seafood food first and then after serving Robert they cooked the guests seafood items.

Headliner Ron Lucas - Ventriloquist ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We really enjoyed this show. Shane set us up in front row seats. I told Shane that Robert will somehow get highlighted in the show. Sure enough Billy the puppet spent a lot of his time trying to win Tammy over. So funny.
Once again we had beverage service and had masks up and down throughout the show. There were a couple guests behind us that weren’t happy about the lowered mask but we just ignored them. I think they were more upset with our reserved seating. At the end of the show they emptied the theatre in stages to keep the volume of people exiting at one time reduced.

Perfect Day at Coco Cay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This day couldn’t have been much better. We had a beautiful day weather wise following a couple days of rain and storms. We absolutely loved the floating cabana. By far the best private island experience we have had. Shane reserved cabana 16 and it really was a great choice. No cabanas in front to block your view and easy access to the bathrooms.  Our cabana attendant Reddy was a hoot and between him and Robert we laughed a lot. The food was all amazing. Shane popped in just before lunch to say hi. Oddly enough, although calm on our side of the island, the sea doos were cancelled at some point due to windy conditions.  So the boys were not able to do this.  Just as well as the cabana kept everyone busy. We left the island just before 3pm and were back on board about 3:45.

Proof of Vaccination Purple Band

Our vaccination bands were the purple bands with the ribbon tail.  The lady in the suite lounge put them on loose so we could remove them and fasten them to our lanyards.  So much better than having it wet and dripping in your food.
A casino staff member stopped us on our way through when they didn’t see it on our wrists but otherwise it has been a great solution.

Escape Room - included for star class

A few other star class families joined us in the escape room this morning including @calvink669and his wife Kelli.  So nice to meet in person! Not going to lie, it was harder than we thought but thankfully we had 4 teens to help us!  It was a lot of fun. Time remaining: 14:59.

Lunch at Playmakers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
First time at Playmakers and it is such a fun atmosphere.  We ate in the area with the pool tables and shuffle board. I think we ordered almost everything off the menu.  Wings, nachos, pulled pork, burgers, fries, wings and of course the sundae. We will definitely be back before the cruise is over.
