Nassau Bahamas - Bay Street and Straw market

For all those folks who was in Nassau Bahamas recently, how was it? Was the stores around the port open? Straw market? Deciding whether or not it's worthwhile to get off the boat if everything  around the port is closed.  Thank you!!!

Straw market is still closed and the vendors parked around it were very rude and aggressive. Most the shops on Bay Street and downtown were open and it was not bad. There is a small vendor section right out side of port that was not too bad either.  Lots of construction in the area.

I don't see Nassau really ramping up again until the construction is done

There was an article in The Tribune that said the Straw Market was re-opened on Nov 23, 2021. They restricted access to only one door at the moment.

Where is this Straw Market in Nassau?   Is it within walking distance from the port?

The original one was - out of the port area, then a right turn for a few blocks, as I recall. We haven't been there this year.

It's on Bay Street in Nassau. It's walkable from the port. No more than a couple of blocks.
