mamie
We have the Royal Carribean Card and we are eligible for on board credit through the my cruise points. The website does not explain the difference. Does it matter if I choose individual credit or shared onboard credit. We only have one cabin and everything we book is usually per guest: such as unlimited dinning, excursions with the exception of couples treatment for the massages. Do I need to choose shared credit if I want to purchase a couples treatment for the spa? The price is listed per couple. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance. Matt
This is the first I'm hearing of individual credit or shared obc. When you get onboard credit, it goes in your account and it's a credit against your final bill. Think of it like when you return something on your credit card. You get a credit back that offsets the other debits that month. Same basic idea.

I'm not sure if it matters which you select, but when my husband and I cruise together I've always purchased the shared OBC and there hasn't been a problem with anything we've purchased. If I cruised solo, or with my sister, I would choose individual. WAAAYTOOO
USCG Teacher
I've gotten the same options as well. I picked shared credit with the theory being that it will allow my wife to access it on board as well, but to be honest I have absolutely no idea if it makes any difference. Where is this screen located? Can you now purchase OBC in the cruise planner?
Jolly Ogre
I have never seen this option. Where does this show up? Where would you select this type of thing?

This is the BAC Royal Caribbean Visa reward points screen. Items or onboard credits you can use your reward points to purchase. MuttMutt
For my B2B we had something odd happen with OBC. The credit was split between us on the first leg when we came onboard but in the planner it was all together. But our separate accounts only showed my information. We even went to the desk to see what was up and got printouts a few times once they figured out what happened. On the second leg everything was combined on the same account and it shows the charges and credits on both log ins exactly the same and everything is together. And before anyone asks we each have our own accounts and different email addresses used. So sometimes it's up to the computer gremlins how it will work onboard the ship. cdixon22
We use this too and always choose “shared” so anyone on the account can charge. USCG Teacher

The only problem we've had with OBC was when a guest stayed in a cabin I paid for, and the guest never used her Seapass to purchase anything. Then her unused OBC was forfeited at the end of the cruise. My wife and I have never had a problem with individual or shared OBC, as others have stated.
