Micha12 Posted October 30, 2021 Report Share Posted October 30, 2021 Hello! Recently booked a cruise for independence of the seas and got talked into upgrading to a Spacious Ocean View Balcony room. My original room was just an ocean view on the lower decks but the price wasn’t much different so I decided to upgrade. I went on the website to see what the room would look like and the 3D tour that’s shown for the Spacious Ocean View Balcony room for Independence doesn’t actually look like it has a balcony - just a window?? Please see image below. No sliding door. Just a window. Kind of annoyed because if there is no balcony then I might as well go back to my original room and pay less for the same thing. D Alt Posted October 31, 2021 Report Share Posted October 31, 2021 must be a mistake in labeling the rooms. Looks the same as an spacious ocean view room. Although there is an asterisk next to the word balcony. Maybe if you open the curtains you see a view of the spacious balcony, but not access one. I also see what you are seeing with the asterik "Spacious Ocean View Balcony*." There is either Spacious Ocean View (catagories 3M-4M, ) or Spacious Balcony ( catagories 1B-4B, CB) which are mostly on the hump, and the Ultra Spacious Ocean View (catagory 1K). steverk Posted October 31, 2021 Report Share Posted October 31, 2021 The picture appears to be a cabin facing forward. I don't believe the cabins that do this would have a balcony because of the wind issues you would have on the balcony. I agree with the comments about checking it against the deck plans and also look at youtube to see if you can find a video tour of your room.
