EmptyNestTravels
I discovered some surprising news when attempting to order the Abbott BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag At-Home Test Kits for my upcoming mid-December cruise, and wanted to share. For planning purposes - cruisers traveling after early December and planning to use the Abbott BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag At-Home Test Kits for pre-cruise testing may need to plan for alternate pre-cruise testing options such as CVS, Walgreens, etc. According to information available online, it appears all currently manufactured & available Abbott BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag At-Home Test Kits will expire in early December, and no other lots are available presently. According to the Optum Store (linked from Royal Caribbean website): "All currently available tests will expire by December 6, 2021. Please allow up to three business days for delivery. Ships via expedited service within the U.S. only. May not be purchased with other items." https://store.optum.com/royal-caribbean/ According to the emed.com website: "The test kits you are about to purchase from eMed have been approved for use by the FDA at least through December 1, 2021, after which they will expire. It’s possible the test kits you order from eMed may have an expiration date later in December 2021, but we cannot guarantee that. eMed looks forward to offering COVID-19 test kits with longer expiration dates in the near future. If you are interested in purchasing a lesser amount of tests, please visit the Optum store." https://www.emed.com/products/covid-at-home-testkit-six-pack?hsLang=en Hopefully they will get new test kits in stock soon with longer expiration dates. Good luck to us all...

So if you're saying that the expiration date is December, is this based on the FDA extension or the stamped date on the package? The initial batch sold my Royal through eMed had expiration dates by September 2021.
Baked Alaska
This is what the Optum store is showing as of today (10/30/2021):
CrznTxn
Yes, the tests MAY expire as early as December 12, 2021. Optum and eMed are not going to go through their stock of tests and sort them to send out the oldest expiration first. We have received three sets of tests from eMed and all three had different expiration's and did not follow any calendar order when we opened the box. First set received actually expire the farthest out, thank goodness and we are covered through our January sail date.
smokeybandit
The original batch of tests have extended expirations through early March, depending on which lot you get of course.
TXcruzer
May not even need tests beyond Jan
