Back to back cruise checkin

We booked our first back to back cruises, same ship, same cabin for both.  We will go through the online checkin process for both cruises but may I assume the port checkin time assigned for the 2nd cruise is moot and we can deal with the actual in-port embarkation process while on the first cruise via the service desk?

I do know we will be administered a COVID test by RCCL near the end of our first cruise to meet the testing requirements for  the 2nd cruise.

TIA

Yes , you can ignore the check in time of the second cruise.

We done B2B with Symphony several weeks ago. We got invited to do the test few days to the first part of the cruise. The test itself was on the last cruise day. On embarkation day we were requested to meet at one of the bars were we got our new card keys after a while we were escorted out of the ship , done quick face recognition at immigration and went to the sect floor to wait until escorted back to the ship.

@rcrabbOn the Oasis now on a back to back cruise. I received the consecutive cruiser letter in my cabin two days ago. It instructed me to go online and book a time slot for my Covid test. Today was the day before disembarkation. I went to the Conference Center on deck 3 and had my Antigen test. Quick and easy nose swipe. Results were emailed to me six hours later. Tomorrow, we meet at the theater at 8:30am where we will be checked in and receive our new SeaPass cards and wrist bands. We have to bring our passports, vaccination cards and the credit card we wish to use for our onboard account (even though the credit card is already uploaded during my online check-in). We then sit for awhile until they say it’s time. We leave the ship by scanning our old SeaPass cards. Security keeps them, although we can pick them up later at guest services. We go through the empty customs area…pause for the green check mark on the facial recognition system…then wait in line until it’s time to re-board…using our new cards. You have the same cabin, so it’s easy. If your were changing cabins (I am) you would need to pack only those things in drawers, etc. Your cabin attendant will use a garment rack to transport your hanging clothes from your old closet to the new one. Very convenient…no folding! Enjoy!😎

This sounds good.  Im concerned because I am doing a B2B in Feb. 1st cruise is with hubby, he leaves and my 18year old is getting on the ship...and I don't think they will let her on without an adult.  It sounds promising I can leave the ship and I'm sure I'll have my phone on to get  the "help me" call!

I did the same in jan 2020, except it was my wife and 19 y/o son.

They wouldn’t let him board alone because of being under 21.  I got off and met him outside the terminal, then we were allowed to board immediately

After passing through the customs area and their facial recognition scanner…you can either go back and wait on line with the other back-to-backers to re-board, or you can leave the terminal. If you leave, you just have to show your ‘In Transit’ card when you return. You will bypass check-in and go right to the gangway. But…you have to wait for general boarding to begin. So, no problem meeting someone in the port and coming back aboard with them after they go through the check-in procedure.

*This is the current procedure at Port Liberty and with the Oasis…this is the last Oasis cruise from NJ until next spring.
