Are you always allowed to get your casino credits out as normal money? Otherwise, remaining onboard credit always expires at the end of the cruise? Go to a machine , choose personal banking (your pin number is your month and day of your birthday) choose room charge and type the amount of your ODBC you want to take out . Print the ticket and take it to the machine. But I guess it depends on the type of the ODBC , if it is something you got as promotion you might not be able to get it like that . This is what they were written on the ODBCs , you should ask but I believe for such ODBC they will return the portion that was not use to the payment method you used. There is no charge to cash out casino chips into USD paper currency. And there seems to be an unwritten expectation that you gamble with some of the chips before cashing out the chips. On Quantum, it appeared that different staff had varying knowledge of the OBC-Casino policy. One casino staff told me that the jackpot machines would allow you to use your SeaPass to buy Jackpot credits with OBC (with a 5% charge), and then regardless of whether you gamble or not, you could press the cash out button, which causes the machine to print a voucher for you, which you give to the casino cashier who would then give you USD currency. She told me if you cash out without gambling some of it, it might cause you to be banned from the casino in future. After speaking with a few casino staff, I went to a blackjack table ($15 min bet) and asked to buy chips using my OBC, the dealer checked to make sure I was agreeable to the 5% charge, then the supervisor took my SeaPass and then I got my chips. I placed the $15 minimum bet each time, and after 6 hands, (which is a total of $90 risked, by my count, which exceeds 10% of the chips I bought), I was in a small profit, I decided not to press my luck, so I cashed out with a slight profit. There wasn't much they could do, even when I supplied them screenshots of Facebook chat with RCI confirming that unused OBC would be refunded to credit card. A few days before my cruise, I too managed to get someone from RC-Singapore on the phone, and got price-match in the form of onboard credit. (waited on hold for ~45mins). She wasn't clear about whether it was refundable as cash at the end of the cruise. I asked on RCI's facebook, (their FB messenger chat response time is much quicker compared to the Singapore call centre) and they checked my booking numbers, and confirmed that unused OBC would be refunded to credit card. However, during the cruise, the Royal app showed the words "non-refundable", and so I asked Guest Services, and they said it was non-refundable as far as they could tell, and could not provide anything more satisfying, even though we supplied them with screenshots of the Facebook messenger chat. They also charge 5% regardless if it is OBC or credit card attached to the room. I play a couple of hands, then cash out my chips. This seems to be the common way to get left over Credits back in cash on most all cruises... Or I just buy some stuff for gifts or to take home for myself/wife.. Just received the unspent $210 credit back to the card yesterday. All OBC is listed when posted (no mater how you look at it, App, TV, account print out) as either Refundable or Non-refundable (most of it is this). If it is listed as Non-refundable guest services cannot do any thing to change it no mater what documentation you have. That is the way it was sent over from shore-side and can't be changed. We were surprised to receive an unexpected and very large refundable OBC from our TA...First time ever, we didn't spend all of our OBC and on an Alaska cruise to boot! I had a refundable OBC and went to Guest Services on the last cruise day. I knew I wasn't going to use it, so I asked about the best way to get it. They said it would be refunded to my CC, or I could take it as cash right then. I took the "Show me the money!" route and they handed it over. Took the ticket to the cashier machine, got my cash. AshleyDillo posted the process some time back. I’m sure she’ll pop in & post it again. Very easy. The slot machines there is not a fee and they do not know how much you played before cashing it in. The only risky part is self-control. Can you control the urge to pull the handle and get rich. Ron Donze Posted April 16, 2023 Report Share Posted April 16, 2023 We used the slot machine account manager transfer funds from your cabin account to the machine method. Once the money was in the slot machine we hit the cash out button and took the printed ticket to the cashier for payment. However, On Celebrity Equinox (Apr 2023) we saw a new policy which said if you don't gamble at least 50% of what you transferred, they would not let you do any more transfers for the remaining of the cruise. Make your first transfer as large an amount as you can because you won't get another chance. The only caveat was that half the total OBC was assigned to each of the persons in the cabin. So each of us could make one transfer. We only read the policy after having made the first transfer so we got a second chance with the second person to recover the remaining amount.
