KJR
We are arriving in Rome (cruise ship leaves from cetivecchia) and have a few hours to see the Colesseum before boarding our ship. However, bags cannot be brought into the Colesseum so anyone know what to do with carry on bags while we’re taking our tour? Do they have lockers there to pay to securely hold bags? Thank you
wordell1
I would hire a car and driver. Keep in mind that the airport is well outside of Rome and the Port is also well outside. To be honest, I don't think the timeline will work very well based on the travel time into Rome and to the port. The airport is a minimum 45 minute drive into Rome, and the Port is a minimum 1 hour drive from Rome. This company can let you know if your timeline would work. http://www.romeinlimo.com/ As an alternate, I would suggest visiting Ostia Antica. It is very close to the airport and you could arrange for a driver to pick you up, allow you to tour, and then get you to the port at your scheduled time. Ostia is 5 minutes from the Airport, and 1 hour from Civitavecchia. Again, email Rome in limo with the plan and they can get you pricing.
